Bible Reading1 Samuel 3: 1-10

Memory VerseThen you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7 (NLT)

Yesterday, we stated that God still speaks. Psalm 29:3 (NIV), “The voice of the LORD is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, the LORD thunders over the mighty waters.”

Other Practical Steps to Hearing the Voice of God include:

4. Be Patient to Learn His Voice: Like Samuel learning from Eli, spiritual maturity is born by consistent patience and practice in listening to God. Learning God’s voice is a process; not instantaneous.

5. Hear God in Your Unique Way: Don’t expect God to speak exactly as He does to others. Trust Him to communicate in a way tailor-made for you.

6. Avoid Predicting God’s Response: Entering divine communication with preconceived ideas hinders hearing Him speak authentically. Have no idol in your heart. Ezekiel 14:4 (NIV), “Therefore speak to them and tell them, ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: When any of the Israelites set up idols in their hearts and put a wicked stumbling block before their faces and then go to a prophet, I the LORD will answer them myself in keeping with their great idolatry.”

7. Reserve Divine Queries for Significant Matters: Not every decision needs a prophetic word. Avoid trivializing God’s voice over petty choices, which can lead to confusion or “spiritual fatigue”.

8. Recognise the Reasons for Silence: If God seems silent, consider whether you’re already on the right path, or you’re delaying in your obedience, or you are not tuned in to how He is communicating. In other words, God’s silence may mean alignment, be patient, incomplete obedience, or new form.

9. Watch for Internal Peace: True revelation is accompanied by peace, not confusion or inner turmoil. If you’ve lost your peace, either re-evaluate your hearing or pause (do not act).

Quote:  Hearing God’s voice requires spiritual maturity and humility. God’s voice will always align with the Bible.

Prophetic Decree: I command the pathway to the release of your Spirit to blast open, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. Thank you Father for your hand of love and grace, in Jesus name.

2. I receive grace to patiently hear the voice of God, in Jesus name.

3. I receive grace to know exactly how God desires to speak to me per time, in Jesus name.

4. I severe myself from any idol in my heart preventing me from knowing the voice of God per time, in Jesus name.

5. I receive the peace of God that passes all understanding, in Jesus name.
