Bible Reading: John 16: 12-15
Memory Verse: But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Acts 1:8 (KJV)
I celebrate the grace of God upon Vladimir Savchuk who preached “Steps to Deeper Relationship with the Holy Spirit”. Steps to developing an intimate relationship with the Holy Ghost include:
1. Accept the Lordship of Jesus over your life.
2. Seek for the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues: This could happen by an encounter as you wait in God’s presence or by impartation.
3. Recognize that the Holy Spirit is a person, and not a force: You can’t have fellowship with someone you keep referring to as “it”. We are “sealed” by the Holy Spirit (Eph. 1:13). This speaks of a relationship. Intimacy flows from relationship. Our salvation gives us the relationship but our pursuit of the Holy Spirit brings about intimacy. When you fellowship with the Holy Spirit, start with the awareness that He is with you, in you and for you.
4. Your relationship can’t go higher than your obedience to the Holy Spirit: Bible instructs us not to grieve the Holy Spirit. (Eph. 4:30). One of the main ways the Holy Spirit is grieved is when we are disobedient to His word and His leading. If you take the risk of obedience, you will experience the reward in that relationship. No risk = no reward = no relationship. God does not always speak what we love to hear. The Holy Spirit uses our spirit to communicate to us, but His voice will never contradict the Bible. The world says ‘follow your gut’; the Bible says ‘follow your God’.
Quote: Until you are conversant with the mind of Christ as written in the Bible, you may not truly discern the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Prophetic Decree: May you encounter the Holy Spirit daily, in Jesus name.
Prayer Focus
1. Thank you Father for the precious gift of the Holy Spirit.
2. I receive grace to walk with the Holy Spirit daily, in Jesus name.
3. Holy Spirit, please take me deeper in your knowledge, in Jesus name.
4. Holy Spirit, please show me your ways, in Jesus name.
5. I receive grace to rise anytime I fall, in Jesus name.
