Bible Reading: John 16: 12-15

Memory Verse: But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Acts 1:8 (KJV)

Other ways of establishing intimacy with the Holy Ghost include:

5. Come back to Him when you make a mistake: When we start living in the Holy Spirit, we may make mistakes, and fall into our old patterns. Sometimes we go for days without prayer or reading of God’s word. The key is to always bounce back. When you sin, run to God. Men don’t drown by falling into water but by staying there. The devil will lie to you saying that you are so inconsistent, you start but can’t finish; and that the Holy Spirit can’t use someone like you. That’s all lies. The Holy Spirit knew your tendencies, weaknesses, and struggles before He committed Himself to your sanctification. He is not shocked or surprised when you make a mess. What shocks Him is when you think He can’t help you to get out; when you don’t trust Him enough to pull you out of whatever struggle/mess  you find yourself in.

6. Feed yourself with messages about the Holy Spirit: You are what you eat. You are what you feed yourself with. Your spiritual diet can transform your spiritual destiny. One of the habits you can imbibe that will bring awareness of the Holy Spirit in your life is regularly reading about the person and the work of the Holy Spirit. Such books include: “Good Morning, Holy Spirit” by Pastor Benny Hinn.

7. Invest your life into the salvation of souls: The purpose of the power of the Holy Spirit is to make us witnesses (Acts 1:8). Jesus said that the Holy Spirit will come upon us and we will receive power (Acts 1:8). Most people have limited the Holy Spirit baptism to speaking in tongues alone. We also need to walk in power. We need both. The purpose of the power is to win more souls. We quench the power of the Holy Spirit when we focus on ourselves alone without reaching out to the lost souls.

EVANGELISM IS GOD’S HEARTBEAT.
