Bible Reading: Jeremiah 15:18

Memory Verse: But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds,’ declares the LORD, ‘because you are called an outcast, Zion for whom no one cares.’  Jeremiah 30:17 (NIV)

I celebrate the grace of God upon God’s servant, Dr. D. K. Olukoya. Man is three in one. Man is a spirit, living in a container called the body and having a soul. A man is basically a Spirit. The real you is a spirit. If the body is wounded, you will feel the pain. The pain will call your attention to the fact that your body is wounded. But many people have wounded spirits which are now attracting spiritual flies.

The Bible recognizes Baalzebub, as lord of flies. The flies can be compared to sicknesses, arrows of the enemy, poisons of the enemy, but they are being invited by a decaying substance which is the human body. In most cases, it is the inner sicknesses that set in before the physical sicknesses start. So, if you want to obtain power against sickness, the first healing to seek is the inner healing. The reason some physical sicknesses refuse to go away is because the spirit and the soul are sick. So, inner healing is healing of the inner man.

John 14:27 (NIV) says, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” The truth is that so many people have no inner peace. So because they have no inner peace, the enemy sends his flies and once those flies settle down, then other physical sicknesses come in. You now begin to bind the physical sickness and claim your healing but once the spiritual sickness is still there, the physical sickness will not go away

A single male parent had an only daughter. He made up his mind not to marry hence poured all his affections raising this daughter. The bitter truth is this: Subconsciously in his mind, he was seeing his daughter as his wife. Time came for his daughter to marry, he perhaps reluctantly let her go. The day he heard that a fight between her daughter and her husband resulted in the loss of her pregnancy marked the beginning of hatred for his son-in-law.

Soon, he developed a sickness no medical doctor could diagnose home and abroad for many years. It is in such seasons people cry out, “Why has my pain become unending, my wound incurable, refusing to be healed?” Jeremiah 15:18a (HCSB). Until the Lord confronted him after many encounters, and he forgave his son-in-law wholeheartedly, and consequently, he was instantly healed. Behold, the tragedy of a wounded spirit.

Quote:  Turn your wounds into wisdom.

Prophetic Decree: Receive healing in your wounded spirit, in Jesus name.
