Multi-talented and multi-graced servant of God, Dr. Pastor Paul Enenche was inspired by God to write a song titled, “There’s A Place”. It says, “There is a place my heart cries out for Lord. There is a place I am yearning for. It is a place, where deep calls to the deep. I am overwhelmed by this deep longing Lord.” No wonder he named his label, ‘Intimacy Records’. Friends, there are depths and realms in God. You are as close to the heart of the Father as you want to be (1 Samuel 13:14). You will determine how close you will be to God. Relationships are in varying stratas. There are acquaintances.

There are friends. There are companion. And, there are boom companion or intimate friends. Again, I say to you, you are as close to God as you want to be! There are people who appear in God’s presence. There are people who stay in His presence only when they feel like. And, there are people who dwell in God’s presence perpetually. What category are you?

According to Psalm 103:7, God revealed His ways unto Moses, and His acts unto the children of Israel. What a wide divide! What a relationship gulf. One person (Moses) knew His ways – His person and attributes, but a nation (the Israelites) only knew his hands – His miracles. What a relationship dichotomy! Just to have 15 minutes daily Quiet time, it seems an impossible mission, yet you are talking about taking command of the nations. “If you have ran with the footmen, and they have wearied you, Then how can you contend with horses? And if in the land of peace, In which you trusted, they wearied you, Then how will you do in the floodplain of the Jordan? Jeremiah 12:5 (NKJV). You should get to a point in your relationship with God when time is of no concern. You create enough time for God to brood sufficiently over you. 

Amongst the disciples, John the Beloved, spent a longer time in deeper intimacy with Jesus and his mother, and the quality of his writings reflected same. The book of John explains the person and acts of Jesus in a more unique version than other Gospels, such that, it is not classified as one of the Synoptic Gospels (Matthew, Mark and Luke). There’s always a unique flavour that comes with intimacy!

The purpose of intimacy is to know God more dearly. His depths is unsearchable. His length is unfathomable, and His breadth is unreachable.

How then do you know God more intimately? SPIRITUAL HUNGER (Mat 5:6). Lavish your time in His presence – in worship, in study and meditation of the Bible, and of course, in prayers! Men who are intimate with God wield greater power with God, see deeper mysteries, and are completely dead to the pleasures of this world. 

Quote: Intimacy is the only sure guarantee to truly knowing Jesus. 

Prophetic Decree: As the deer pants after the water brooks so shall your soul pant after Jesus (Psalm 42:1).

Prayer Focus

1. Sing the song, “Take me deeper”.

2. Lord, I repent of my lackadaisical attitude that has prevented me from following you more intimately and passionately, in Jesus name. 

3. I receive the grace to chase after Jesus and lavish my love on Him, in Jesus name. 

4. Foundational obstacles preventing me from knowing Jesus, die, in Jesus name. 

5. I break any veil preventing me from entering into the holy of holies, in Jesus name.
