Bible Reading: Philippians 3: 10-14

Memory VerseBy no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning backPhilippians 3:14 (MSG)

Kaizen is a Japanese word. Kai means change, and Zen means good. Kaizen means good change. In other words, it simply means constant improvement or, to be more exact, it means having a system of constantly looking for and implementing improvement. While most people in life will want to improve by 25% or more over night, look for the 1% improvements daily. Commit to continuous improvement no matter how small. Your consistency is what really matters. Just take things one step at a time, and you will see yourself at the top.

The other time, I saw two pictures stand side by side. On one side was the picture of a man with a ladder whose rungs are closely knitted; only separated by tiny spaces. Hence, he was able to ascend up the ladder, taking tiny but simple steps one after the other. On the other side was the picture of another man with a ladder whose rungs were at a much distance separated from each other.

Hence, he was so overwhelmed to even take the first step. The morale of the pictures is that progress starts when little steps are consistently taken day in, day out. Stop the wild chase. Start from where you are. First steps are always the hardest, but until they are taken the notion of progress remains only a notion and not an achievement.

The Kaizen principle further emphasize the difference between fixed mindset and growth mindset. People with the growth mindset believe in personal evolution. They believe one can improve ones character by working daily on yourself. While those with a fixed mindset believe that they are who they are, and cannot evolve into a better version. This is not true. Dare to better your best today.

Quote:

I. To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often – Winston Churchill.

II. The secret of making progress is to get started – Mark Twain.

III. The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing – Walt Disney.

IV. When you become stagnant and aren’t improving by the day, you are only moving toward your failure – Pooja Agnihotri.

Prophetic Decree: Receive your deliverance from all limiting mindset, in Jesus name.
