Bible Reading: Hosea 4: 6, Proverbs 1:5, James 1:5

Memory VerseAn intelligent heart acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge. Proverbs18:15 (ESV)

God’s servant, Bishop David Oyedepo further said: Between 2900BC -300BC, Africa was leading in education. History confirms that Greek Historians, Architects, Mathematicians, Sociologists, Archaeologists, all came into Egypt to receive their education. At that time, Africa was the centre of civilization because wherever education goes, there civilization goes. Then the Greeks such as Plato, Aristotle, Socrates etc, took over from them until the Romans hijacked it. And then the British hijacked it. Wherever education went, there civilization went. And then the Americans took over.

Nothing empowers like knowledge. And that’s why we have an army of powerless people in Africa. Schooling only gets you literate. It is investment in literature that creates your actual future. What you were taught in school was as it obtains then, but what you need now is as it obtains now. So, you need updated insights to remain current in your field. Here in Africa, we celebrate certificates, but in developed countries they celebrate discoveries. Insight will empower you with confidence for conquest. Nothing empowers like knowledge. It is investment in knowledge that empowers you for unusual accomplishment.

“I studied 39 selected classical biographies of great ministries before going into ministry so I am not surprised where we have found ourselves. I would rather have been surprised if we were not here” – Bishop Oyedepo. People don’t fail because they don’t know nothing in an exam. They fail because they don’t know enough. A person who got 29% got something but it is not equal to pass mark. Most of us just run around with failure mark saying we have done all we know. When all you know has not guaranteed you success, so go and know more. T

he secret of sustainable empowerment is an undying quest for more and more insights in your field. There is no prayer that can empower you above insight. The prayer you need is grace to know which materials to read and grace to understand what you read. And it is that understanding that actually empowers you. You are potentially empowered when you are born again. That power is ignited when you are baptized with the Holy Ghost but the fire is kept alive by knowledge. Hosea 4:6 says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.”

That statement means they are powerless and become miserable for lack of knowledge. Your majestic command in the race of life is essentially a product of your depth of insight in your field. The truth is this: Investment in knowledge is the very secret of sustainable empowerment.
