Bible Reading:  Isaiah 11: 1-3

Memory Verse:  Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV)

The great Albert Einstein once said, “Learning is not a product of schooling but the lifelong attempt to acquire it”. This quote reinforces a maxim we should all live by: Intellectual growth should commence at birth and cease only at death. If you must be continually relevant in your career and ministry, you must be an addicted learner. You must learn to keep your mind forever open to new information both within and outside your area of expertise. Read wide. Do not be mentally lazy. Read about science, animals, plants, people, national issues, politics, international law, etc. It is your study that will reveal you (2 Tim.3:15). Your i-phones should be used to access soul enriching information and should not be used for watching pornography or gambling online. You must know a little about many things. Information is the currency of life. Learn, relearn and unlearn. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of knowledge. He puts insatiable appetite for useful information in the heart of every born again child of God. All students must covet this operation of the Holy Spirit.

Teachers and lecturers must learn to update their lesson notes every term or semester by doing a good research. They must keep going for refresher courses. On the other hand, students must read beyond what is taught in the classrooms. Many of our curriculums especially in Africa need to be reviewed.

In conclusion, take caution. Knowledge could puff up. It is empty barrels that make the most noise. Learn in humility.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:  Exodus 33 – 35

Quote: All great leaders are dedicated readers.

Prophetic Decree: Receive fresh appetite for insatiable knowledge in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus:

  1. Thank you, Father for your Spirit meat, for today.
  2. I receive fresh appetite for the Word and other useful information in Jesus name.
  3. I open my heart to fresh operations of the Holy Spirit in Jesus name.
  4. I receive the Spirit of wisdom, knowledge and understanding in Jesus name.
  5. I receive the Spirit of the fear of God, counsel and good judgement in Jesus name.
