Memory Verse: May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our
hands for us– yes, establish the work of our hands. Psalm 90:17 (NIV)

When you pass through motor parks and garages, do you notice the increasing number
of teenagers and youths who harass taxi drivers to collect 20, 50 or 100 Naira (between
50 cents and 1dollar)? They defile their youth and stoop so low shouting on people well
able to be their parents. It is indeed very shameful and incredible.
Brother and sister, let me remind you that there is dignity in labour. God has promised
to prosper the works of our hands, but how does He prosper your work when you do
nothing with your hands? You must understand the art and science of money. Money is
a spirit. Money is a means of exchange. Money moves in the direction of value. Money is
what is being paid for in exchange of value, service or help rendered. The higher the
value you add to yourself, all things being equal, the more money that comes into your
hands.
During your holidays what do you do? At this stage of your life, you must learn to
multitask while you specialize in a particular thing as you grow in age. Why waiting for
your Uncle to send you free money? Present a small business proposal to him. There are
little things you can learn on the computer from which you can earn some money.
Perfect your skill in computer application and see if your colleagues will not come to you
to type and bind their project work. You must start planning and working towards
financial independence now that you are young and this must not affect your academic
performance. Ayodele Dada finished with 5.0 CGPA from the University of Lagos. He
personally financed himself throughout his University education. Behold the world of
possibilities! There is dignity in labour.
