Bible Reading: Romans 10:14, John 9:4

MemoryVerse: But you watch in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fully carry out your ministry. 2 Timothy 4:5

Tim Storey is determined to take Hollywood for God. Since 1993, he has been teaching curious film industry actors and executives of all faith about the Gospel of Jesus Christ every three weeks with signs and wonders following. The ministry has exploded to about 700 attendees from the initial seven people. Storey began advertising his ministry as a motivational meeting, trying to be as non-religious as possible. But after God convicted him, Storey began to give altar calls at every gathering and to pray for the sick. “There is such a hunger for God in Hollywood,” says Storey, “but if you don’t show them the right way, what is going to happen is they are going to fall for something else.”

Some of them have even gone ahead to be baptized. For the last two years, Storey has been teaching others about the difference between a good idea and a God idea. In distinguishing between these two ideas, Storey explains, “Good ideas may come true, but God ideas must come true”. The God idea brings purpose and a passion to do what is right in God’s eyes. “What happens with a lot of entertainers is that the enemy tries to take them off that priority pathway. So they need that constant coaching,” he says. More than ever before, God is calling people to market place evangelism. You can be that pastor in your compound that has many flats, in your business place, in your school, in that market where you have your shop, amidst your fellow traders, etc.

You don’t need to wait until you are ordained as a pastor, you have the anointing of the Holy one. Do the work of an evangelist. The benefits of being an evangelist is enormous. You touch the heart of God because soul winning is God’s heartbeat. Also, your glory shall shine as light (Daniel 12:3). Refuse to be shy, scared or jittery. Open your mouth wide and the Holy Spirit will fill it, confirming His words with signs and wonders.

Quote: You are the incarnate Jesus your neighbour is expecting.
