Bible Reading: Matthew 2: 1-12

Memory VerseFor unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 (KJV)

Christmas is a season of love and sharing. Christmas centres on the birth of Jesus Christ, as our Lord and saviour. This is one birth far too uncommon. Whether Christ was truly born on this day or not does not really matter. What really matters is that a Saviour was born for the remission of the sins of mankind; giving us eternal life.

Christmas talks about:

1. The power of supernatural conception.

2. The power of prophetic fulfilment (Isa. 7:14; Matt. 1:23; Micah 5:2; Luke 2:1-4).

3. The power of supernatural delivery.

4. The power of supernatural sustenance.

5. The power of supernatural announcement (Luke 2:8-20; Matt. 2:1-3)

However, the best reflection of Christmas is in our hearts. The purpose of the Messiah that was born was primarily for the salvation of the souls of man. While we rejoice that Jesus was born, are you in tune with Him? Brother, have you encountered this Messiah personally? Sister, why do you keep rising and falling in sin? When the purpose of a thing is not known then misuse is inevitable. Do you daily preoccupy your heart that one day Jesus whom you are celebrating today will be coming back again?

Then, what are you doing in preparation for His second coming? Can your neighbour indeed say you are Christ-like? Does your attitude speak contrary of your faith? Friends, while we rejoice, shall we ponder again on these hard truths, and make amends that we may truly celebrate what really matters to the heart of the celebrant of today. Can others see Jesus in you?

Furthermore, do well to reach out to someone today with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus, especially the less privileged, the widows, those in rehabilitation centres, prisoners, etc. You can also go for evangelism during this season. Today is a great opportunity to present the gospel of Christ practically.

Quote: Does Jesus the king you claim to celebrate on this day know you in person?

Prophetic Decree:  The birth of Jesus shall not be in vain over your life, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. Loving Saviour, I adore You.

2. I repent of any way I have disappointed you with my life, in Jesus name.

3. Lord Jesus, please help me to live my life to please you, in Jesus name.

4. The coming of the Lord Jesus shall not be in vain for me and my family, in Jesus name.

5. I receive my total dominion from sin and self, in Jesus name.
