Bible Reading: Romans 12:1-2

Memory Verse:  We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ2 Corinthians 10:5 (NIV)

For years, the four-minute mile was seen as an almost impossible feat to achieve. Many athletes and experts believed it was a physiological limit for the human body.

The “four-minute mile” is a historical moment in athletics, specifically the act of running a mile under four minutes. It was a feat considered to be a significant barrier by many in the sports world. The first person to break this barrier was Roger Bannister, who ran a mile in 3 minutes and 59.4 seconds on May 6, 1954. Bannister was a medical student at the time. He became the first to break the barrier, running the mile in 3:59.4 at a race in Oxford, England.

The “Bannister Effect” demonstrated that what was once considered impossible could indeed be achieved if only we can push the limits and consequently, break barriers. Since Bannister’s historic run, the mile record has been lowered significantly, with the current record standing at 3:43.13, set by Hicham El Guerrouj in 1999. As of June 2022, the “four-minute barrier” has been broken by 1,755 athletes.

Similarly, in our lives, careers, and families, we must make up our minds to break all limitations. In our families, one of our uppermost responsibilities is to break the evil altar sponsoring limitations in our ancestry (father’s house and mother’s house), and consequently, do what no one has ever done. It all starts with a resolution in our minds. Career limitations must also be broken. Don’t say no one has ever done this in my place of work or in my department. Open your mind for the God of possibilities to fill it with possibilities. Read the Bible, the greatest source of mind surgery (mind reconstruct) and other books of anointed men who did great wonders. You will not die small, in Jesus name.

Quote:  I. An open mind is like an open window. It let’s the fresh air in – Mike Hernaki

II. Open the window of your mind. Allow the fresh air, new lights and new truths to enter – Amit Ray.

Prophetic Decree: Like Joshua and Caleb, receive great grace to see possibilities from the window of your mind, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. I cast down every limitation and every high thing that rise against the knowledge of Christ in my mind, in Jesus name.

2. Holy Spirit, do a mind surgery in my life today, in Jesus name.

3. I break every string of limiting mindset that has tied me to the same spot for many years, in Jesus name.

4. Fresh breath of the Almighty, blow upon my heart, in Jesus name.

5. Evil seed of impossibilities planted upon my heart, be uprooted, in Jesus name.
