Bible Reading: 2 Corinthians 13:5

Memory Verse: Test and evaluate yourselves to seewhether you are in the faith and living your lives as [committed] believers. Examine yourselves [not me]! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves [by an ongoing experience] that Jesus Christ is in you—unless indeed you fail the test and are rejected as counterfeit? 2 Corinthians 13:5 (AMP)   

We must thank God that before prayers can be answered it must be according to the will of God (1 John 5:14). Else, many of us would have been consumed by our own prayers. Sometimes, we are our own enemies. While I know that there are powers, people and personalities that could hold people in bondage, many of us are our own enemies. Many are not held back by anyone from succeeding, but by their own selves.

What about that indiscipline, lack of self control, anger, prayerlessness, carelessness, laziness, secret sins – pornography, masturbation, smoking, drug addiction, womanizing, drinking, etc? That habit of unending procrastination. That prayerlessness and non-chalant attitude to learn the truths of God’s word. That lack of loyalty to friendship and meaningful relationships. That bad character you have refused to drop that keeps pushing away all the people whom God has placed in your life. That lack of commitment to anything truly worthwhile.

That character deficiency that makes you unable to stay put to any course persistently until you finish it. I hope you know these are really the chains that holds you. Get rid of these things and see if you will not make progress in life. Sometimes the real coven tying down your destiny is your lazy and unrenewed mind. Change your focus. Always thinking that your step mum, or some distant relative somewhere, or your colleagues at work, or your neighbors are your problems is a mindset of failures. Nobody can stop you without your permission.

You can’t be on fire for God and be stoppable. Failures love to blame everyone else for their misfortune. They love prophecies that point the sources of their problems to someone else and anybody else, except themselves. They are ever angry and ever suspicious even of their appointed helpers. Again, I am not saying there aren’t people who don’t like you or wish for your downfall BUT THINKING THAT THOSE PEOPLE ARE YOUR PROBLEM IN LIFE IS A MINDSET OF FAILURE! Take responsibility for your life. Nobody is your problem unless you permit them to be.

Prophetic Decree: Receive your deliverance from every limiting habit, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. My Father, deliver me from the lies I tell myself, in Jesus name.

2. Holy Spirit, please reveal me to me, in Jesus mighty name.

3. O Lord, break me and mould me to your glory, in Jesus name.

4. Holy Spirit, please deliver me from all character weakness, in Jesus name.

5. Any bad habit that easily besets me, I break your hold by fire, in Jesus name.
