SPIRITUAL FATHER vs SPIRITUAL SON

“And without all contradiction the less is blessed of the better” (Heb. 7:7). God Himself ordained spiritual sonship. We all need a spiritual cover as individuals, ministers, corporate organizations or ministry. For every Timothy, there must be a Paul who will guide, guard and gark him into the fulfillment of his destiny. As expected, the devil will always fight anything God ordains. There is no virtue that cannot be converted to a vice. Many times, the problem most spiritual sons have is pride. Pride of grace to be precise. Dear spiritual son, don’t bite the finger that once fed you. You don’t turn your back on him that raised and mentored you into destiny. Stay humble.

Your spiritual father may not be perfect because he is also human, but that doesn’t mean you rubbish his contributions into your life. Only short sighted sons who are not ready to last long do this. In this kingdom, we don’t break ranks. Spiritual authority is not sentimental. You don’t choose your father, you discover him by revelation. Once discovered, accept him with all your heart. Celebrate his strength, and in the wisdom of God, manage his weaknesses that it may be well with you. On no occasion no matter what you should not be found backstabbing or criticizing your spiritual father, not even on the social media.

Remember Miriam and Aaron who spoke against Moses in Numbers 12: 1-16.

On the other hand, spiritual fathers must know that they are accountable to God. Else, they must be careful the way they weild spiritual authority. They must not present themselves as a substitute to God in the life of the person being covered.

A spiritual father once told his son, “Should God give you a specific instruction that is contrary to what I told you, make sure you obey God instead of me.” That’s a pleasant word full of humility and reverence coming from a spiritual father who sees God as the final authority over a life. Sir/ma, please don’t close the heavens of your spiritual son/daughter because he/she errs. Children will always act like one. Help them to make their mistakes successful. Please discipline in love. Again, remember you are accountable to God.

GOD BLESS US ALL, IN JESUS NAME.
