Addiction is like a two-edged sword. It could be positive and negative. Negative addiction is defined as not having control over doing, taking or using something to the point where it could be harmful to you. The main types of negative addiction include: I. Physical addiction: Addiction to addictive substances such as nicotine, cocaine, alcohol, opioids, etc. II.

Behavioural addiction: A compulsive need to engage in certain behaviours such as sex, pornography, work, exercise, eating junk food. III. Impulse control disorders: Inability to control emotions and urges that may affect other people’s well being, e.g. pyromania, kleptomania. Before you start anything in life, please ask yourself this pertinent question, “Where will I end if I continue on this path?”

Practical Examples
1.It started has boyfriend and girlfriend. Today, you cannot do without sleeping with each other every time. This is called demonic soul tie. Friend, you better quickly enroll for deliverance prayers before all your destiny virtues is totally sapped away.

2.A friend told you to escort him somewhere outside your school to visit a place. In your foolish naivety, you consented. What was meant to be a visit has turned out to be a negative addiction to video games and subsequently gambling. Your mates are in school studying while you cannot do without video games and gambling. You need a prayer of deliverance. An evil spirit is involved.

3.Dear brother, despite going for prayer meetings and Bible study, you got back home, locked yourself in your room and started masturbating. Sometimes you hide in the toilet to prevent your parents or spouse from knowing. How long will you defile God’s temple? Boredom is not an excuse for masturbation and pornography. You need help. Gross sincerity about your state, godly counsel, prayer of deliverance, burning the bridge (removing triggers such as erotic musical videos and magazines) and deep personal discipline, etc, will deliver your soul from this evil addiction.

4. Gluttony: Eat well but not uncontrollably. There is nothing the devil cannot make a monster from. When fasting becomes a herculean task, beware of the spirit of gluttony. Some people cannot stop eating during the day and night. How then do you become sensitive to the whisper of the Holy Spirit when your inner man is always in an excited state. Leave sober. Break off from the spirit of addiction.

Prophetic Decree:  Receive grace to present your body as a living sacrifice, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. Lord, I am sorry of anyway I have defiled my body, my soul and my spirit, in Jesus name.
2. I break every demonic soul tie with (mention the name of the person), in Jesus name.
3. Spirit of pornography and masturbation, I break your hold over my life, in Jesus name.
4. Spirit of gluttony, die by fire, in Jesus name.
5. I receive grace for self control and personal self discipline, in Jesus name.
