Bible Reading: 2 Kings 8: 1-6

Memory VerseAnd herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward menActs 24:16 (KJV)

He gave his life to Christ on the 5th April, 1964. In order to maintain a clear conscience before God and man, he decided to restitute the same way Zaccheus the publican did immediately he accepted the Gospel of Christ. Though his School principal was not a Christian, he approached him to return the library books he took unlawfully. That was not all. Being a very intelligent student who was at that time doing his A’ level, he had written the West African Examination Council (WAEC) examination for his friends for two consecutive times. He restituted by writing officially to the examination board.

He also notified his friends should their result be withdrawn. That must have been a hard decision to take, but for his good conscience. His name is Pastor (Dr.) W. F. Kumuyi. Faith of our fathers! Friends, what repentance is between you and God is what restitution is between you and your fellow men. Furthermore, Daddy Kumuyi had a burden to start Bible study teachings, organize house fellowship meetings and evangelize after he became a born-again child of God. He started off with the Bible study but his Church called him and warned him saying, “If everybody does what you are doing, then the whole Church will be divided because this is not part of our doctrine”.

He refused to hearken and he was excommunicated. Many years later, he understood better and went back to restitute. We must add knowledge to our zeal. Zealous ministers under another man’s covering should please learn from this. Restitution is a clear fruit of your salvation.

Restitution gives you a clear conscience before God and man. It takes off the legal ground Satan, the accuser of the brethren could use against you before the court of heaven; it secures your permanent open heaven, and it brings ease of access to the things of the Spirit.

Quote: Restitution is a much-needed fruit of your salvation.

Prophetic Decree: May the testimony of your restitution bring many to Christ, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. Thank you Father for the gift of salvation and grace for restitution.

2. Open my eyes O God to areas where I need to make restitution, in Jesus name.

3. I silence the ghost of my past haunting my future, in Jesus name.

4. Wisdom of God, overshadow my life, in Jesus name.

5. I receive the peace and joy of the Holy Spirit even as I restitute, in Jesus name.
