Bible Reading: 2 Timothy 2: 20-22
Memory Verse: Joshua told the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do amazing things among you.” Joshua 3:5 (NIV)
Biblical consecration means setting apart (something or someone) for God’s sacred use or service. It signifies a dedication to a holy purpose and a separation from common or profane use. This can involve individuals, objects, or even places. Personal Consecration then means setting yourself apart for God’s use.
As you begin to journey into God in intimacy, as you begin to seek Him day and night, as you begin to press into God in prayers, discipleship, personal study of God’s Word, for power, in kingdom evangelism, etc, He will begin to give you specific instructions specially tailored (customised) for the assignment He has for you. This is what is called personal consecration. Be sensitive, some of these instructions may not be verbal, but can be trapped if you’re discerning enough.
This is one reason why you must meditate alot and have a prophetic journal handy.
For example, you were stirred in your spirit to raise an altar of sacrifice when you were in a desperate need. Then, you sowed a seed to a man of God or an orphanage. Suddenly, there was an avalanche of open doors. God may be speaking in non-verbal words. Doesn’t the result you’ve just experienced speak for itself? God is a Spirit. He doesn’t speak much, but He answers much. Now you know what to do specifically any other time you want a shift!
A brother noticed anytime he engages in midnight prayers and then sleeps with deep soaking worship playing on the stereo, he experiences an angelic encounter that gives his life a clear direction via instructions. Build an altar around such experiences. Practice such more often and have more Bethel experiences! Personal Consecration!
Personal consecration may be in simple things, which when done consistently, guarantees the involvement of the Spirit of God in a particular area of your life. This is otherwise called ‘covenant with God’. Have you ever heard people say, “I have a covenant with God”? It is often borne out of a personal consecration.
Quote: Feeble men become mighty by the force of consecration.
Prophetic Decree: Receive grace to lay your life daily before the Lord in daily consecration, in Jesus name.
Prayer Focus
1. Sing the song: Take me deeper. Deeper in loving You…
2. I receive the divine code to harness my destiny by the reason of personal consecration.
3. Open my heart O Lord to the secrets about my destiny, in Jesus name.
4. By your mercy, O God, may I stumble and trap divine instructions needed to harness my destiny, in Jesus name.
5. After the order of the Rechabites, I receive grace to consecrate my life, in Jesus name.
