Bible Reading: Galatians 1: 15-17

Memory Verse: For the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel has said this, “In returning [to Me] and rest you shall be saved, In quietness and confident trust is your strength.” But you were not willing. Isaiah 30:15 (AMP)

Retreat is an act of moving back or withdrawing for proper assessment, re-strategy or re-evaluation. A retreat is one of the pivot stands of great men. Should any warrior permanently stay in battle, such will soon become lethargic and may soon wear out. We all must learn to always go back into our secret places, reevaluate, restrategize, and come back again reloaded with strength, synergy and better insights. The Bible says, “… in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength” Isaiah 30:15c (KJV).

You have been on the battle front for over 360 days, it’s time go back into your secret place for a retreat. The duration of your retreat is dependent on many factors such as the depth of your hunger, your spiritual stamina per time, the duration the Lord has commanded, etc. Use the remaining part of this year to seek the face of the Lord in prayers and fasting towards the new year. The first day, I will suggest should be spent primarily for praise, worship and thanksgivings unto God. Brethren, God deserves our praise. The world is getting darker but for God’s mercies. Other days should be spent on evaluation and strategic positioning for the new year WITH ALL SINCERITY under the following headings:

1. Spiritual evaluation: You could score yourself between 1-10 under the following headings: a. Prayer life. b. Fasting life. c. Evangelistic / mission works. d. Word study life. e. How many spiritual books read?

Make sure you’re very sincere with yourself. Above all, write out concrete steps you must take in the coming year to score higher before the next evaluation, which could be in the next 3 months into the new year.

4. Channels of my Spirit open up for deeper encounter with the Almighty, in Jesus name.

5. It is my season of refreshing, in the name of Jesus.
