A 37-year-old Point of Sale (POS) operator at Kurnar Asabe Quarters in Kano State, Nigeria, Mohammed Sani Abdulrahman returned the sum of N10 million wrongly transferred to him by a customer. The POS operator reported the incident to the police command when he realised that the customer had wrongly transferred N10 million instead of N10,000. It took the police investigation three (3) months to identify the owner of the excess money, and after a painstaking investigation and being satisfied with proofs of ownership, the money was returned to the owner’s same account.
In a country where, according to World Bank, has a weakened economic fundamentals plagued with persistent inflation to reach a 17-year high of 25.8% in August 2023, which, in combination with sluggish growth, is leaving millions of her citizens in poverty; then this testimony is one of its kinds. Someone once told me that it was the same house that made Hophni and Phinehas, the corrupt children of Prophet Eli that made Samuel, a man known for his integrity. This means it is not about where you live or the norms of where you live, but what lives inside of you. You mean despite the hunger and scarcity in the land, a road side worker could return what wasn’t his without coercion? Surely, his value systems are way up to the heavenlies. This testimony goes beyond the message of honesty or integrity, but the fear of God. Only the fear of God whom you cannot see with your physical eyes but knows and sees all the hidden things in your life can do this.
Who are you when no one sees you? Who are you when no one can point an accusing finger at you? What are your core values which you will never compromise no matter the hardship in the land? One thing is sure: God sees what no Man sees. HOW MUCH OF THE FEAR OF THE LORD IS IN YOUR HEART? A great thank you also goes out to the correct owner of the money who, out of joy and with pleasure gave the POS operator a cash gift of Five Hundred Thousand Naira (N500,000:00). Indeed, goodness and mercies will always follow a man who has haboured the fear of God in his heart.

- The spirit of greed and theft for material wants shall not consume my heart, in Jesus name.
- May the windows of heavens open as I continually labour in the fear of God, in Jesus name.
