Bible reading: Ecclesiastes 11:3-4
Memory Verse: Don’t brag about tomorrow, since you don’t know what the day will bring. Proverbs 27:1 (NLT)
There is a cankerworm that has eaten into the fabrics of many a life and destiny and has stopped many from fulfilling destiny in a grand style. This devourer makes a champion a mediocre. This devourer makes a sun shine like a star. This devourer turns an excellent student average. It is a locust which, once it invades a life, reduces one’s potential and fragrance in the school of life. In all ramifications, it is a subtraction to her victims and never an addition. This enemy of mankind is called Procrastination. To procrastinate is to keep delaying something that should be done now till a later time, often because it is unpleasant or boring, or because of sheer laziness and indiscipline.
I remember the sad story of a friend who had the luxury of opportunity to learn a software package, free of charge. He kept procrastinating. Shortly afterwards, a big door of opportunity opened for him. Due to the influence of his benefactor, at arrival in the company, he was given a warm reception as a staff though interview hadn’t been conducted. Calamity loomed when he was told to work on this simple design software but he couldn’t. He walked out of the office having his ego deflated and bitter about himself. Believe me; this friend of mine could have learnt this software in less than 1 week. He was one of the best graduating student of his set.
Procrastination rubbed him of his Divine package. He hasn’t gotten a better job since then. He missed an opportunity to earn about 650,000 Naira ( about 1500 dollars) monthly salary which could have turned his life around forever excluding other foreign benefits attached. Procrastination is a robber of time and destiny.
Quote: “Don’t wait. The time will never be just right.” ~ Napoleon Hill
