Scripture Reading: Ephesians 5:16

Memory verse for the week:   Eph 5:16

“Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. “(KJV)

To be punctual is to arrive early for all assignment and engagement. Punctuality is the soul of business. Dayo, an SS3 student in last year’s Senior Secondary School Certificate examinations arrived late at his examination hall. He owed his lateness to high traffic jam in his area. Imagine such an excuse! He couldn’t wake up early enough to arrive at his destination in order to avoid hold up.

I have seen many a teenager walk confidently to the Church service 2-3 hrs after the start of service. How can you be richly blessed in such a service? There are angels in charge of every segment of each service with loads of blessings. Many will get to heaven and God will tell them that the angel of their blessing went back to heaven without delivering their package to them because they missed the opening prayer and Sunday school.

Physics lessons starts by 9am. Bola won’t leave her house until 9:15 am. By the time she arrives in class, the no-nonsense Physics teacher had shut the door. Why won’t her fail?  She has always missed the attendance mark assigned for the class.  Last term, she said it was the foundational powers of her father’s house that caused her to fail this same subject. Many are like Bola who need a change of attitude to work, learn to be punctual and stop blaming the devil.

ACTION WORD: PUNCTUALITY IS THE SOUL OF BUSINESS

PRAYER POINT:

  1. I receive grace to be punctual for my classes and church services, in Jesus name.
  2. Indiscipline in me, die, in the name of Jesus.
