Bible Reading: Matthew 22: 37-40
Memory Verse: But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Matthew 6:33 (ESV)
Sing the hymn, “Fill my cup, Lord, I lift it up Lord” on page 103. Everyone’s life as a centre. Our centre is the hub around which all decisions revolve. For some, survival is the hub from morning till night. For others, the acquisition of wealth or material goods drives their daily choices. Yet, for many others, the centre of life is pleasure-seeking gained through entertainment and sexual immorality of every sort. But a God-centered life is one that revolves around the character of God. Decisions are made from within that centre, based upon that which pleases or displeases God.
What are the characteristics of those that put God at the centre of their lives:
- They are God-chasers: They are God addicted. They are always thirsty and hungry for more of God. Such people don’t joke with their daily quiet time, weekly services, personal retreat, etc. Consequently, they are privy of the secrets of God (Deut. 29:29). Situations don’t catch them by surprise.
2. They are desperate for real spiritual growth: You shouldn’t be comfortable if after 6 months in faith you are yet to receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues. Thirst for it. If you want to see and hear mysteries, you must be ready to speak in mysteries (1 Cor. 14:2). The Holy Spirit can baptize you Himself in your secret place as you wait on Him just like He did on the day of Pentecost. You can also seek the impartation of the Holy Spirit by the laying on of hands (Acts 8:14-17).
Quote: Until God becomes your addiction, your future is not perfectly guaranteed.
Prophetic Decree: Receive great grace to become radical for Jesus.
Prayer Focus
1. Sing the song, “I want more of You”.
2. Holy Spirit, please open up the channels of my Spirit for more of You, in Jesus name.
3. Fill me with a fresh hunger and an unquestionable thirst for you, O Lord, in Jesus name.
4. I receive grace to be at the centre of the centre of your will for my life, in Jesus name.
5. Any wall of partition between God and I, break by fire, in Jesus mighty name.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Ruth 1-4
HYMN: FILL MY CUP, LORD
1. Like the woman at the well, I was seeking
For things that could not satisfy.
And then I heard my Savior speaking—
“Draw from My well that never shall run dry.”
Chorus
Fill my cup, Lord;
I lift it up Lord;
Come and quench this thirsting of my soul.
Bread of Heaven, feed me till I want no more.
Fill my cup, fill it up and make me whole.
2. There are millions in this world who are seeking
For pleasures earthly goods afford.
But none can match the wondrous treasure
That I find in Jesus Christ my Lord.
3. So my brother if the things that this world gives you
Leave hungers that won’t pass away,
My blessed Lord will come and save you
If you kneel to Him and humbly pray.
