Memory Verse: For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power. 1 Corinthians 4:10 (NIV)
Today, let’s consider some testimonies of our fathers in faith that walked in great power. May it rekindle the fire of prayer and fasting, and desire for these mantles. Don’t forget: Mantles don’t leave the earth. They are transferred from one generation to another; after the order of Elijah and Elisha. Prophet Michael Ojo Olowere (aka Baba Olowere, 9th September 1923 – 5th July, 2023) of blessed memory was a man who dedicated one of his ears to the Lord. You will always see him hold the ear as if trying to hear some whispers from God. He worked great and mighty things in righteousness.
An invited pastor once requested to see him after he ministered in his church. Beloved, as he stepped into his sitting room, Baba prophetically picked him up in the spirit. Remember he hasn’t prayed for him yet. He spoke very definite words about the intentions of this pastor in the next few weeks, and he attested to it. What a Oil! What a flow of grace!! Friends, we must contend for power and intimacy with God. We all need the gift of the open eyes. The story is told of Prophet Timothy Oluwole Obadare (April 1930 – March 2013). A man who doesn’t have physical eyes but has his spiritual eyes wide open.
A young lady had just died. The young lady was a very good aid to one of the prophet’s good friend. Prophet Obadare was overwhelmed. He cried out to God in his mother’s tongue which is being interpreted as: “O Lord, will it be impossible for me to get anything I desire from you.” Please wait a minute, and observe the depth of that statement especially as it points to deep intimacy. Guess what happened. The dead girl jacked back to life! There are realms in the spirit. Ancient Mantles! Deep intimacy!! Connection to the Highest throne of Grace!!! These fathers travelled deep with God. A lady shared her encounter with God’s precious servant, Pastor E.A Adeboye.
She said on a particular day as she was cleaning the altar where he ministers, she suddenly saw him at her back though it wasn’t time of service. As she was working for the Lord, her heart must have cried out to the God who sees our secret tears. That same moment, God instructed His precious servant to go to the pulpit. As he laid his hands on her saying, “How are you, my daughter?”, the power of God surged through her. For the next three days, her shoulder was on fire!
Question: What did these aforementioned men and their likes contacted in God that made them so anointed? It is called power!
Be warned: If you despise the fathers or dishonour them, you may never be a partaker of what they carry. Elisha followed Elijah despite the humanity of the latter. Be wise. Be discerning. Learn to endure their excesses.
Quote: The power of God is the answer to the full weight of the Gospel. No Gospel without power.
Prophetic Decree: Any hindrance blocking your connectivity to the socket of power is broken, in Jesus name.
Prayer Focus
1. Thank you Father for the exploits of our fathers in faith.
2. My Father, cloth me with the garment of power in Jesus name.
3. I receive the humility, brokenness, and perseverance needed to connect to the mantle of power in Jesus name.
4. Holy Ghost, come upon me. Power of the Highest, overshadow me, in Jesus name.
5. I receive grace to pay the price for power, in Jesus name.
