Bible Reading: Matthew 21:21, John 9:4

Memory VerseThe godly may trip seven times, but they will get up again. But one disaster is enough to overthrow the wicked. Proverbs 24:16 (NLT)

You have probably heard that failure is inevitable, and of course that is true. No one of us is immune to failure. But, as much as failure is a normal part of everyday life, it is important to know that you don’t have to stay there. Failure is normal, but being stuck in failure shouldn’t be. Other culprits found to have stucked people or institutions in a pattern of failure include:

  1. Doubt – There is a lot to be said for confidence.“All you need in this life is confidence, and then success is sure.” But sometimes, it doesn’t always come easily. If you find yourself in doubt, just know that you are capable of faith. In a way, doubt and faith flex the same mental/emotional muscles. Doubt is negative with an expectation of the worst. Faith is hopeful with a focus on possibility. No matter how you look at it, both doubt and faith are your response to something that hasn’t happened yet. More importantly, they will also determine how you see the results.

5. Procrastination – This habit catches up with you faster than you can imagine and only causes regret for wasting countless hours doing nothing or doing something completely irrelevant when you could have been doing something productive. Mike Buffington said, “Fear of success, fear of failure, lack of confidence – in my experience, these are the most powerful drivers of procrastination.”   Brian Karr also said, “Wanting to always be perfect and procrastinating on tasks you see as challenging for fear of failure to achieve perfect results is a recipe for physical and emotional problems”.
