Bible Reading: Proverbs 1:10

Memory VerseMy child, when sinners tempt you, don’t give in. Proverbs 1:10 (GNT)

Truth be told, you will need to be resolute and dogged if you must please God in this End-time. The challenges are daunting, but there is a grace that helps men. The challenges are even more enormous for the younger generation in various schools and tertiary institutions. The world is pulling for all to come into compliance with its culture and ideals. Sin is literally visible everywhere, and in all places – billboards, social media, at the market places, on the roads, etc.

In his book “Naked Flesh,” Rev. Keseina wrote, “The trick of the devil is to make God’s standard seem too ‘difficult’ to maintain that it discourages compliance. It is easier to gain compliance as a sexually active teen than one who have chosen the path of abstinence till marriage. How dare you say you have no boo or bae? How can you say you have never been kissed or fondled? What will people say when they hear you are still a virgin at your age? How can you be dressing like a local girl?

These questions are thrown at us so much so that even Christians now feel like there is something in the world’s system so desirable and exciting that makes life empty and boring until explored. That the world’s standard is ‘easier’ to blend into does not make it right or pleasing before God. Good isn’t necessarily God, and God will not change his standards to suit anyone. God is no respecter of persons.

Have you been ridiculed by your classmates, hostel mates, colleagues at work or even uncrucified Church members? They call you all manner of names. They say you are dull, a Jew, uncompliant to reigning trends, old school, just to mention but a few. Count it all joy. Pray for their eyes of understanding to be open.

Time will tell who has made the right decision by standing for righteousness. Do not grow weary nor grow frail. It is simply a test of your convictions. The trial of your faith works patience. Keep lifting the banner of Christ in all righteousness without compromising.

Quote:  My son, let not ungodly men lead thee astray, neither consent thou to them – Proverbs 1:10 (BST)

Prophetic Decree: Receive strength in your inner man against all temptation of the enemy in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. Lord, I am sorry of anyway I have bent to the cravings of this fading world, the evil demands of my flesh, and the pressure from friends, in Jesus name.

2. I receive grace never to compromise anymore, in Jesus name.

3. Like unto Daniel in Babylon, I will not defile myself with the king’s meat, in Jesus name.

4. Like unto Shedrach, Meshach and Abednego, I will not bow down to the idol of sin, pleasure, compromise, self-worship or bounties of this world, in Jesus name.

5. Every appetite of sin, lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh, and pride of life, die, in Jesus name.
