Bible Reading: Habakkuk 2: 1-4

Memory Verse: I will climb up to my watchtower and stand at my guardpost. There I will wait to see what the LORD says and how he will answer my complaint. Habakkuk 2:1 (NLT)

Imagine you wake up suddenly into a bright morning, you pick up your car keys and start to drive everywhere around town with no clear travel plan. This is exactly how many start up their new year with no new year vision, no new year goal, and no new year plan. According to Myles Munroe, “Purpose is when you know and understand what you were born to accomplish and vision is when you see your purpose in your mind and begin to imagine it.” Vision talks about clear sight for the future.

Never forget: Your vision will always reflect your purpose as a child of God. Vision is the ability to think about or plan the future with imagination or wisdom. Vision is the mental picture of a divinely ordained future. Everywhere looks like a road without a clear vision. There are basic steps the Bible recommended for vision planning. These steps are contained in Habakkuk 2: 1-4. They include:

1. Write out your vision: Your vision cannot be in your head. Translate your vision to a statement by writing, typing, or printing it but writing it out helps you to read it, remember it, believe it, review it, and run with it for the year. Write out your vision concerning your spiritual life, academics, career, family, children, finances, etc, for this Year 2023. Write it out in your own hands.

2. Turn your vision ideas to vision statement:A vision statement describes the future aspirations of an individual or organization. It defines the dream, the short and long-term goal, and the unconditional direction where your life or organization is heading. The statement is not tied to future funding, obstacles of any kind, or present availability of resources. Paste your vision statement openly on the wall, notice board, or make it a poster so that everyone can read it. A vision statement guides you and once it is written out becomes your policy statement. Research by psychologist Gail Matthews found that people who wrote down their goals succeeded 33% more often than people who only thought about their goals.

Quote: Vision brings your world into focus. It brings order instead of chaos.

Prophetic Decree: This Year 2023, you shall receive a divine vision, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. Thank you Father for your vision for my life this Year 2023.

2. I cancel every agenda of vision breakers, in the name of Jesus.

3. Holy Spirit inscribe your vision for my life into my heart this Year 2023, in Jesus name.

4. Blood of Jesus, preserve my vision in Jesus name.

5. Vision destroyers, be wasted, in Jesus name.
