Sometimes ago, the Acting Dean of a Medical College in Nigeria invited all the old students who are now doctors produced by the College to a zoom meeting. The professor was sick with worry about the infrastructural decay and rot at the medical college she oversees. She was aware that the government is too broke to fund it, so she came up with a master plan, which was to tap into the resources and social capital of the alumni produced by the medical college scattered all over the world to give the medical college a facelift.

Starting off the meeting, she narrated the challenges and plight the current medical students at the college are facing – new hostel, new classes, state of the art modern facilities, etc. Her speech opened the floodgates of donations from the medical doctors produced by the Medical College. The donations were coming in trickles – 1 million naira, two hundred thousand naira, etc. Then came a US alumnus who gave a million dollars. In his words, the medical college shaped and refined him into the man he is today, so he has the duty to give back to the school. Even the Acting Dean, who called the zoom meeting, was speechless as she did not see that coming.

You may not know how much you can do until you challenge yourself to think outside the box, and outside your comfort zone. Many times, what is stopping us is not lack of funds but lack of ideas. You must learn to invest into and maximize relationships. You must learn how to carefully monetize your relationship in wisdom. You are a broadcaster, you have brought many top echelons in both public and private sectors into your studio at one time or the other, you shouldn’t be poor.

Leverage carefully on such relationship. You shouldn’t be relying only on your salary. Your public reputation must match your pocket. Are you in business, why not see if you can do business with the Bank of Industry? Are you in the Agricultural sector, why not try Agricultural development banks? Furthermore, there is something called crowd funding. What does this mean? Instead of waiting for one person that will give you a million naira, why not get 10-15 friends or well wishers that can give you at least #100,000 each. That’s financial wisdom!

Prophetic Decree: Your helpers shall not be few, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. My helpers shall not be feeble, in the name of Jesus.

2. Powers afflicting my destiny helpers to prevent them from helping me. Be wasted, in Jesus name.

3. I curse any foundational power magnifying my errors, mistakes and weaknesses before my destiny helpers, in Jesus name.

4. Arrow of disunity and discord fired between my appointed helpers and I, backfire, in Jesus mighty name.

5. O Lord in your mercy, please qualify me for my next weighty destiny contact, in Jesus mighty name.
