Bible Reading: 2 Timothy 3: 1-17 Memory Verse: But as for you, continue in the things that you have learned and of which you are convinced [holding tightly to the truths], knowing from whom you learned them. 2 Timothy 3:14 (AMP) The scriptures cannot be broken. There will be many strange happenings in this end time. How do you feel when two people of the same sex are standing before a “holy Priest in matrimony”. Worst still, man and animal are now being joined together as one. Strange but true! I hope you know that you have to be more careful in parties and don’t ever leave your drink opened without taking it anywhere you go. Many have been drugged, raped and/or assassinated by such carelessness. Strange but true! All wedding gifts must be thoroughly checked and sanctified using the Blood of Jesus before use or storage. A strange orange with no seeds was found still fresh in one of the wedding gifts of a particular couple. This was the reason for their 9 years barrenness. Strange but true! What do you say of a particular “Church” where Bibles are not used, and the traditional king of that city is the General Overseer? Strange but true! Where palliatives meant to cushion the effect of the harsh economic condition are locked up for who to eat? A respected Chieftain of the party in power said some government delegates approached him that they will like to sell it off for personal gain outside the state. Where is the fear of God? Strange but true! Where the government agents tasked to prevent loss of lives are deliberately involved in extra judicial killings. Strange but true! When people giggle, chew gum, and walk leisurely as they respond to altar call because the Pastor said they are destined for the top if they give their lives to Christ without much emphasis on absolute surrender to God, conviction of sin or true repentance. Many just want to use God for their selfish purpose. Strange but true! When long aged democracy is about to be truncated by people so desperate to stay in power at all cost. Why cling to power at all cost? Should you lose an election, step down honourably. Infact, it is better to leave power when the ovation is loudest. Strange but true! When two brothers of the same parents are chanting incantations against each other in desperate quest for who to control their late father’s properties. Strange but true. How do you guard yourself in this end time? 1. Develop stronger personal intimacy with God in deep Bible study, prayers, meditation, and active service. 2. Be content: Live within your means per time. 3. Reject covetousness. 4. Laminate your mind (the seat of your thoughts) always with the Blood of Jesus. 5. Carefully choose your friends. 6. Rest on the grace to see you through till the end. BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Psalm 111-118 Saturday, 29th May, 2021 Topic: BABY FACTORIES Bible Reading: Nahum 3: 1-5 Memory Verse: Come and set up your kingdom, so that everyone on earth will obey you, as you are obeyed in heaven. Matthew 6:10 (CEV) The wickedness of the wicked continues to know no bounds. Have you heard of sex slaves? Ask those women who went abroad in search for greener pastures, but met their waterloo. Sex slaves are women employed to satisfy the sexual lust of their masters and are usually paid little or nothing for such abusive acts. Would you want to go abroad and do anything for money? Please think twice. Stay where God has kept you per time. Let’s talk about baby factories. Young people desperate for money, be warned. The police raided a place in a particular town and rescued six girls at different stages of pregnancy from an illegal maternity home. The youngest of the girls was 14 years old. The proprietress of the clinic was also arrested. She could not produce any document authorizing her to operate the clinic. The girls were kept in the home to make babies which would be sold to willing buyers. As at 8 years ago, baby boys can sell for a price of around US$250, and baby girls for slightly less. Such girls are usually raped even in such homes and are maltreated. After they must have given birth, they could be handed a token of #20,000 ($50) to return back to their base. If you are privileged to have parents who could send you to school in order to have a great future, please don’t take the privilege for granted. Perhaps you don’t have one, go learn a trade. Be wary of anyone who promises you heaven and earth if you could follow him/her somewhere. There is dignity in labour, beloved. Many have been lured outside their base by people who have promised them everything the lust in their hearts desire and have ended up in a baby factory. The house is usually well guarded with little or no room for escape. Think about that. And to anyone operating a baby factory, if you don’t repent, the wrath of God will soon consume you. Evil can never last forever. To women buying such babies and sharing the testimonies of a miracle baby even on God’s holy altar, know for sure that what doesn’t belong to you can never be yours forever. One day, your sin and deception will surely find you out. Quote: It is bad enough to sin against humanity, but worst to sin against God. BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 1 Kings 1-2; Psalm 37, 71, 94 Sunday, 30th May, 2021 Topic: OPEN MY EYES, O LORD Bible Reading: Genesis 13: 5-13, 14:12-16 Memory Verse: Open my eyes [to spiritual truth] so that I may behold Wonderful things from Your law. Psalm 119:18 (AMP) There is more to see than the physical eyes can see. We all need the miracle of open eyes. No wonder the Psalmist cried out in our memory verse, “Open my eyes…”. He knew it takes more than the physical eyes to see beyond the natural. Many married their enemies because they were spiritually blind and could not discern the potholes of the enemies. Many are working in the wrong company at the moment because their spiritual discernment wasn’t sharp enough to perceive danger in the nearest future. They, like Lot, went for a land full of milk and honey in the present, but looming with danger in the future. May every battle disguised as blessings in your life scatter, in the name of Jesus. Brethren, what is your motivation in life and destiny? There was a late blind Prophet who lived in Ede, Osun State, Nigeria many years ago. Though he was physically blind, he gave directions to the high and mighty of his time. On a particular day, while he was walking along with some persons, he told them to be careful because a snake was crawling by, and true as he said, the snake almost bit one of them. That’s the miracle of the open eyes many of us need before we take both major and minor decisions in life. How did you know where to settle in destiny? What prompted that choice? You need the miracle of open eyes when you want to settle for a job, marry, choose a career, buy a land/property, go on a journey, etc. A child of God was about to embark on a journey by air when he had a prompting in his spirit not to go. Though he had paid for his flight ticket, he declined going. That saved his life because the plane later crashed. The miracle of open eyes is not reserved for only pastors, and so called spiritual giants. As a matter of fact, spiritual giants today were once spiritual babes yesterday. The miracle of open eyes is reserved for all the children of God who have chosen to be led by the Spirit of God (Romans 8:14). Such have submitted their spirit, soul and body to the government of the Holy Spirit. Today, if you don’t want to fall into the ditch of life anymore, submit your life totally to God, repent of any known sin and ask the Holy Spirit to come into your heart. BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Psalm 119:1-88 Monday, 31st May, 2021 Topic: FAMILY PATTERN Bible Reading: Genesis 21: 2,5 ; 25: 20-21; 30:1,22 Memory Verse: You find families for those who are lonely. You set prisoners free and let them prosper, but all who rebel will live in a scorching desert. Psalm 68:6 (CEV) Every family has its own unique grace and peculiar problems. This is known as family spirit. There are families that are financially prosperous. That’s their unique grace. In that same family, there could be barrenness. The latter represents the family’s peculiar problem. This scenario is similar to the family of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob as seen in our Bible reading. It is not everything about your family that is bad, neither is it everything about your family that is good. If you are an ignorant or a careless Christian, you may suddenly find out that your life is going in the same pattern as your parents. Christianity is not a religion, it is a way of life. If it is a way of life, then it should confer a measure of responsibility on you. Have you ever sat down with your parents or an elder in your family to ask pertinent questions? You must read in-between the lines; observe the lives of your parents, all your uncles, aunties, siblings, etc. Why do people die before age 70 in this family? Why premature deaths, failure at the edge of breakthrough, a particular terminal illness, barrenness, get and lose blessings, etc. Probe deep. The revelation from your dreamland especially in seasons when you are quite prayerful could also serve as a warning signal. Are you beginning to see yourself in rags in your dream? Do you see yourself nursing a baby in the dream? Do you have sex in the dream? Seeing yourself on your grandfather’s bed or in your home town in the dream, seeing short strangely looking creatures in the dream, driving in a dry place in the dream, your vehicle was hijacked in the dream, a strange personality following you around in the dream, etc. could be a pointer to some unresolved mysteries in your family that could be affecting your destiny. Way Out: 1. Repent and dedicate your life WHOLLY to Jesus. 2. Plead for the mercy of God. 3. Receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit and fire. 4 Be 100% obedient to God. 5. Pray enquiry prayers (Jeremiah 33:3). 6. Be sensitive of your dreams. 7. Pray strategic deliverance prayers. 8. Stand firm in the finished work of Calvary. Know your position in Christ (Col. 2:14-15). 9. Cling unto the grace of God (Heb 4:16). Quote: If you don’t take care of your family pattern, you may end up like your family members. BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 1 Kings 3-4; 2 Chronicles 1; Psalm 72 JUNE, 2021 Tuesday, 1st June, 2021 Topic: NEEDED: DEAD MEN Bible Reading: Galatians 5: 16-26 Memory Verse: I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20 (ESV) I know God has promised you great and mighty things. You have seen it in your dreams, visions, and heard about it from prophecies. One major criteria needed before entering into all of these promises is death to self. Before you can carry the weight of God’s glory, He will pass you through a refining furnace that no flesh may glory in His presence. You must be threshed at the threshing mill of the Almighty. You must be trained by the instrumentality of death. God promised the children of Israel Canaan land for their possession, but it took the process of death to get there. They had to die to the philosophies of Egypt, the Egyptian way of life, their past pain, and the Egyptian mindset which had become part of them. It took only a night to cross over from Egypt, but it took many years to possess Canaan. Why? Because God was up to something. With a wrong value system, perspective, orientation and attitude, a man will turn even his Canaan back to Egypt. The platform is not as important as the preparation. Preparation preceeds platform. God doesn’t want you to become a couterfeit of His glory, so He slowly but articulately refines you even as He takes you from one level of glory to another (Exodus 23:29). Friend, what are you holding back from the Lord? That unfriendly sinful relationship, the alcohol in your wardrobe, that pack of cigarette, hard drugs, that perpetual bribe you take, examination malpractice, fornication, adultery, little lie, theft, anger, bitterness, pride, unforgivingness. It is the desire of the Holy Spirit to keep working death in you that the life of Christ may manifest in you. You must get to a point when the only ambition you nurse is the ambition of God, the Father who is in heaven. Just anything He says, you do. Anything God cannot get from you, you cannot truly own. Death to your will, your opinion, your wants, your needs, your ambition, etc. Someone need to cry: Take all I have and all I own, that I may be wholly lost in You. Hebrews 10:23 (NASB) The hymn “Standing on the Promises of God” was written by composer Russell Kelso Carter (1849-1928). Please sing the hymn on page 104. This hymn reflects his personal experience as a petitioner before the throne of God. He was diagnosed with a critical heart condition by age 30. Carter was faced with imminent death. He made a promise that whether he got healed or not, his life was finally and forever consecrated to the service of the Lord. He learnt to lean on the promises that he found in the Bible. He committed himself to believing God whether or not God granted him healing. God chose to heal him and Carter lived with a healthy heart for another 49 years. A father in faith once wrote: Stop looking for substitutes to what God has promised you. If God has said it, He will do it. All you have to do is believe. Many a time, we miss our miracles because we don’t have faith in His word. While scientists will say “Prove it and I will believe you”, God says “Believe me and I will prove it to you”. Believe Him. Stand on His word. Boast about His promises. Live in the fulfilment of the promise and He will hasten to bring it to pass. If God could make Sarah conceive at the age of ninety, He can still give you a child. No matter how hopeless the doctors say your case is, He will heal you. If He fed an entire nation with manna in the wilderness, He can provide for all your needs. If He parted the Red Sea so that the children of Israel could pass through and then drowned their enemies in that same sea, He will take you out of that difficult situation, deal with all your pursuers and level all your mountains. Nothing is too hard for Him to do. Just believe. What are you believing God for? An admission, fruit of the womb, job, financial help, etc. Go search the Bible concerning such promises, and stand on His words confessing them until you see the manifestations. SEEDS BREAK SIEGE. Thursday, 3rd June, 2021 Topic: GOD STILL ANSWERS PRAYERS Bible Reading: 1 John 5: 14-15, Mark 11:24 Memory Verse: And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear. Isaiah 65:24 (KJV) Dr. Abraham, a well-known cancer specialist, was once on his way to an important conference in another city where he was going to receive an award in the field of medical research. He was excited about the award and so boarded a plane to the venue. However, two hours after the plane took off, it made an emergency landing at the nearest airport due to a technical fault. Afraid that he would not make it on time to the conference, he immediately went to the reception to make enquiries. He found out that he would have to wait for ten hours before the next flight to his destination! He rented a car and drove himself to the conference city which was four hours away. Soon after he left, the weather changed and a heavy storm began. The downpour made it difficult for him to see so he missed a turn he was supposed to take. Driving in the heavy rain on a deserted road, feeling hungry and tired, he frantically began to look for any sign of civilization. He came across a small tattered house and knocked on the door. A beautiful lady opened the door. He explained his situation and wanted to use the lady’s telephone but she had no telephone. She however asked him to come inside and wait till the weather improved. The doctor who was hungry and exhausted accepted the offer. The lady offered him something to eat and drink. She asked him to join her in prayers but he declined. According to him, he believed in hard work, not prayers! Sitting at the table and sipping his tea, the doctor watched the woman pray many times beside a baby’s crib. Feeling that the woman might be in need of help, the doctor asked her what exactly she needed from God and asked if God ever listened to her prayers. When he enquired of the child in the crib, the woman explained that her son was down with cancer. And she had been advised to see a doctor named Abraham who could cure him but she did not have enough money to afford his fees. She said that though God has not answered her prayers yet, but she’s sure He would make a way one day. She added that she would not allow her fears to overcome her faith! Stunned and speechless, Dr. Abraham began to weep! He was forced to say out loud, “GOD IS GREAT” and recounted to the woman all the sequence of bad events: malfunction on the plane, a thunderstorm and how he lost his way. All of which happened because God answers prayers, and He wanted to give him a chance to come out of his bondage of materialistic career pursuit and give some time to a poor, helpless woman who had nothing but rich prayers! Oh! What a God! Brethren, God may not answer your prayers YOUR WAY but He will always answer IN HIS OWN WAY. Behind the scenes, God will move men, the weather, events, circumstances, etc., in order to work out the best for you! Do not stop trusting! Do not stop hoping! God is busy planning your dancing this year! Hold on! Hold out! Look up daily! The amazing ways of God! Anything that must happen for you to meet your destiny helpers must happen by fire, in Jesus name. May your testimony bring other people to the saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus. BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Proverbs 1-3 Friday, 4th June, 2021 Topic: MISSION WORKS: READY TO GO? Bible Reading: Mark 16: 15-18 MemoryVerse: Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6 The Voice of the Martyrs’ an agency dedicated to missionary works once shared a testimony. Pastor Norbu Promila was pleased with the service as he preached to the tribal people in the mountains of Bhutan. Those gathered seemed especially attentive and open to the Good News. Then in the middle of the sermon, police rushed in through every door, stormed the stage, and forcibly grabbed Norbu. Pastor Norbu was thrown into prison and tortured, and the authorities ordered him to forsake his call to preach the gospel. He received massive head injuries, and when authorities finally let him go, there was permanent damage to his body. He returned home, where his wife and children were shocked at his bruised and bloodied face. Ten days later, he died as a result of his wounds. Pastor Norbu’s congregation in this hostile Hindu kingdom refused to give up on his mission works. Shortly after his death, they met together and called for volunteers to continue Norbu’s work among the tribe. Five hands went up, one of which was his wife. She answered God’s call to missions while also caring for her five children. She ministered faithfully while she and other workers have seen many tribal people won to Christ. God provided for her needs and her children’s. Mrs. Promila held fast to the knowledge that one day she would see her husband again and be rewarded for her faithfulness to Christ. What we do for the Lord is not just a job — it’s a mission. A mission is never about a single person’s responsibilities. It is focused on Christ and His kingdom. Even though someone at the helm of God’s work in a particular area may leave, the mission itself must never die. God’s work will never suffer labourers. It goes on forever to its completion. Those who are willing to undergo persecution for their faith teach us about the meaning of mission. They recognize that there are only two things that last till eternity – God’s work and human souls. When we are willing to invest our lives into missions, we will become eternally significant. In this fast pacing world, are you willing to go into missions even if it cost your life? It is not at all times that our faith delivers us from problems. Sometimes, our faith must be tried in problems even to the point of death. “And they loved not their lives even unto death” (Rev. 12:11c). BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Proverbs 4-6 Saturday, 5th June, 2021 Topic: ANGER Bible Reading: Proverbs 14:29; 15: 1,18 ; 22:24; Eccl 7:9 MemoryVerse: A fool gives full vent to his anger, but a wise man keeps himself under control. Proverbs 29:11 (NIV) Anger is one word short from danger. Uncontrolled anger indeed could be dangerous. Individuals, lives, properties, establishments and nations have been destroyed due to anger (Prov. 15:18). Only fools allow themselves to be carried away by anger to the extent of misbehaving. It is almost impossible not to come across people and events in life that will make you angry but the Scriptures offer the solution: “Be angry, and do not sin: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil” (Eph. 4: 26-27). There is no wisdom when people say, “Let me say all that is on my mind now that I am annoyed”. No matter how angry you are, learn to control your temper and bridle your tongue (Jas. 3:2-7). Uncontrolled anger has resulted in many misusing the power of the tongue, which has led to great disasters and regrets. The disaster resulting from untamed anger can be worse than an holocaust. Anyone who properly checks his temper is referred to as wise (Eccl. 7:9). Surprisingly, when it comes to anger, even a genius, or the most anointed, can become a fool. Nabal foolishly disdained David and his men when they asked for his kind gesture after they had risked their lives to protect his flocks. Thank God for wise Abigail, Nabal’s wife who prevented David from venting his anger on him (1 Sam. 25:10-34). “For the anger of man doesn’t produce the righteousness of God”. James 1:20(WEB). It is natural and normal to see or hear things that can make one angry, but God expects you to choose how to positively respond to such situations. The late Dr. Myles Munroe said, “Life is 10% what happens to you, and 90% how you react to it.” What do you do when angry? 1. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you. Anger is a demon. Rebuke it. 2. Walk away from the anger provoking scene. 3. Keep quiet. Ambrose Bierce said, “Speak when you are angry and you will make the best speech you will ever regret” . 4. Never take any minor or major decisions when angry. 5. Take a cold drink or a cold shower to calm your nerves. 6. Seek foundational deliverance from the spirit of anger residing in your blood. Shall we round off in the words of Shannon L. Alder, “If you spend your time hoping someone will suffer the consequences for what they did to your heart, then you’re allowing them hurt you a second time in your mind”. Mastering your emotions is one of the true signs of maturity. BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Proverbs 7-9 Sunday, 6th June, 2021 Topic: THE COVENANT OF MERCY Bible Reading: 2 Samuel 7: 1-16 Memory Verse: But My mercy shall not depart from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I removed from before you. 2 Samuel 7:15 (NKJV) Again I say unto you, dearly beloved, the surest way to walking with God is via covenant. Covenant operates on the principle of interchange. That is, God is committed to you while you are also committed to Him. Amongst such covenants include the covenant of mercy. There was a firebrand christian. On this particular day, his wife was in the labour room. He had prayed all manner of prayers, but the baby refused to come out. Then, he resorted to a simple but powerful prayer: O Lord, have mercy on my wife. Within the space of few minutes, the baby came out. No matter how strong you are spiritually, one day, you will meet a problem that is bigger than you. Fall back on the covenant of mercy. It was the covenant of mercy that delivered David from his strong enemies (Psalm 18:17). Some very hard mysterious problems surrounding your life won’t receive solutions until you come to the end of yourself, your labour, your fastings and cry to the throne of mercy (Heb. 4:16). Many who stumbled on ground breaking discoveries were powered by this same covenant of mercy. It can only be the mercy of God that will make a one-time arch-sinner turn General overseer of the fastest growing Christian community worldwide. It was mercy that made a man condemned to die in prison (infact his death sentence had been signed by the then Military Administrator), turn Civilian President. It was the covenant of mercy that made Joseph sleep in the prison on a particular night, but reigned in the palace at sunrise. Mercy can turn poverty to prosperity overnight. Ask Obed-Edom (2 Sam. 6:11)! Mercy says, “Yes, I know you are guilty, but your sins have been blotted out; no traceable record anymore. Go and sin no more”. It was mercy that spoke on behalf of the thief on the right hand of Jesus when he was on his way to hell. Mercy will cause your arch-enemies nominate you for a position in your absence. Mercy will cause them to tell the board of decision makers, “We don’t like him, but he is best suited for the job”. The covenant of mercy will cause your adversaries reverse all the evil done against you by themselves. Mercy prevails over judgement. Mercy is the forerunner of favour. Mercy is powerful. How do you connect to the covenant of mercy? 1. You must be born again (John 3:3). 2. Put God first in all you do (Mat. 6:33). 3. Obey all divine instructions especially those SACRIFICIAL instructions God gives you (Psalm 50:5). 4. Be passionate about soul winning. 5. Renew the covenant of mercy everyday over your life. 6. BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Proverbs 10-12 Monday, 7th June, 2021 Topic: GOD’S GRACE Bible Reading: Ephesians 2: 8-9, Titus 2: 11-14 Memory Verse: For it is by grace [God’s remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ] that you have been saved [actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life] through faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [not through your own effort], but it is the [undeserved, gracious] gift of God. Ephesians 2:8 (AMP) Apostle Paul declared, “I am what I am by the grace of God…” 1 Cor. 15:10a. I believe he must have perused through his life in retrospect and concluded that the results his life and destiny was generating was nothing short of the grace of God. He was busy persecuting the Church when Peter and the other Apostles were having a first class discipleship training with Jesus. Yet, the grace of God upon him made him an uncommon achiever above all the other disciples. He went ahead to write almost two-thirds of the New testament. The grace of God upon him was most commended from the mouth of the Apostle Peter who was before him (2 Peter 3: 14-16). Do you know? Pharaoh never probed the background of Joseph before making him Egypt’s first Prime Minister. A situation where a slave, a convict, and a non-Egyptian clung to the seat of power. That’s an uncommon achievement that can only be powered by God’s grace. Nobody remembered that Moses was a killer when the grace of God came upon him and made him a deliverer to an age long captivity of the children of Israel. The grace of God vetoed his past; and vetoed his mistakes. Friends, why brood over the mistakes of the past? There are generals of the Gospel today who were chronic sinners yesterday. Infact one of them is a father of fathers in Nigeria. Old things have passed away and all things have become new (2 Cor. 5:17). It’s a new day. A new dawn. Prepare for yourself a new wine skin. Never allow your past become a reason why God will pass you by. There is no condemnation to them who are in Christ who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit. Are you an armed robber, internet fraudster, gangster, womanizer, an abortionist, addicted pornographer, masturbator, gay, or lesbian? The grace of God is more than enough to save you today. Give your life to Christ and sin no more. Remember you cannot continue in sin that grace may abound (Romans 6:1). Quote: GRACE: “G + Race” = God in the Race. Psalm145.4 (ESV) A young man who had a lot of money met an old man and told him, ”Accept that I’m richer than you”. And the old man replied, “That’s not true.” The young man said, “Okay, let’s go to my house and I will prove it to you.” So they went to the young man’s house in one of his luxurious cars and got there within 5 minutes. What welcomed them was all kinds of choice cars – Rolls Royce, Aston Martin, Bugatti, etc. Then the old man said, “Now, let’s go to my house”. So they went in the old man’s car, and the journey which was meant to last for 10 minutes lasted about 40 minutes. They were delayed on the way by all calibers of rich people wanting to greet and pay homage to the old man. Many had the same cars and infact more expensive cars than those of this young man. They all thanked the old man for helping them get rich. Then an often-ignored truth dawned on the young man: The wealth of a man is in the quality of the people in his life, not the material things he has. It was Peter Strople who opined, “ Legacy is not leaving something for people. It’s leaving something in people”. This is the power of being there for people. The reason some people will not harm you is because they know the power of those who will come against them if they touch you. This is the power of being there for people! When you help people achieve their dreams, the reward is always higher than the help. Here’s a truth you should never forget: Achievement is what you can get by yourself. Success is what people can be when you’re still with them. Legacy is what people can do when you are no longer with them. At the back of your mind, leaving a legacy should be what drives your actions. Focus on building people and institutions. Every business, workplace, and company is an incubation place to raise people. Psalm 147:7 (NIV) When I was younger in Christ, I thought when someone renders you a help, with or without saying a thank you in cash or in kind, one can just move on. Afterall as Christians, we are to offer selfless services while we trust God to pay us back in His own way. I soon discovered that it is not always so. Man is a spirit, having a soul and living in a body. It is good to cultivate the habit of servicing the souls of mortal men via gratitude. The story of the ten lepers in our Bible reading also buttressed this point. Ten lepers were healed but only one came to say thank you to Jesus. Jesus made sure he didn’t go back the same. He wasn’t only healed, he was made whole. The memory span of a mortal man is short lived. We are quick to forget where we are coming from, those who helped us when the road was rough, our parents, teachers, guardian and destiny helpers. We must consciously work against this evil act by setting aside a budget, perhaps tagged “Thank You Budget” at least once every year. Friend, there are some human altars you must not only service once a year, but on a regular basis. One of such altars is your biological parents and your spiritual parent(s). Ingratitude could be responsible for some people’s closed heavens. They rise only for their progress to be stagnated at a stage because of ingratitude. Many children are suffering from untold hardship because they have neglected their parents. Many have been stagnated in their career because they despised the grace of God upon a friend that brought them to limelight. Refuse to be the architect of your own misfortune. Refuse to incur self imposed curses. Some people are yet to completely deal with the ancient family curses and evil covenant that is affecting their progress, yet they compound their problems again with ingratitude? May the Lord deliver you from the evil yoke you have brought upon yourself which may also be affecting your nuclear family, in Jesus name. Repent, Restitute and be Restored. For doing these things, you shall not sin at any time. 2 Peter 1:10 (DRB) Automaker Henry Ford asked electrical genius Charles Steinmetz to build generators for his factory. One day, the generators ground to a halt and the repairer could not figure out the fault. So Ford called Steinmetz, who tinkered with the machines for a few hours and then switched it on. The generators whirred to life, but Ford got a bill of $10,000 from Steinmetz. Flabbergasted, the rather tightfisted car maker inquired why the bill was so high. Steinmetz replied, “For tinkering with the generators, $10. For knowing where to tinker, $9,990.” Ford paid the bill! Charles Steinmetz was extremely valuable. While there has been massive retrenchment in many industries due to the lockdown imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, many who have made themselves relevant in their establishment still retained their jobs, or at other times, they were told to manage more than one portfolios. We must understand the place of value. Strive to make yourself valuable. Carve a niche for yourself, and be good at what you do such that it will be quite difficult to find your replacement because of the exceptional value, attributes and deliveries you offer. Furthermore, put on a garment of good character. Nobody wants a “valuable rebel”. Be blessed. 1. Make sure you are saved (born again) in order to be saved eternally (Jer. 17:14). 2. Keep a social distance from all forms of evil (Job 28:28). 3. Cover your mind from being infected with sin and hatred (Lev. 19:17). 4. Do not hug hearsay and false teachings (2 Peter 2:1). 5. Sanitize your life with the word of God and prayer (Ps. 1:2). 6. Spread the gospel via the social media and sanitized hardcopy (Mark 16:15, 2 Tim. 2: 15b). 7. Wash your heart with Christ’s blood (Ps 73:1). 8. In case you notice any symptoms of sin, call the helpline of Christ in prayer (Jer 33:3). 9. Avoid the crowd of wickedness and wicked men (Ps 1:1). 10. Do not shake hands with abomination (Deut. 25:16). 11. Always remember to boost your spiritual immunity with faith and the power of Holy Spirit (Jude 1:20). 12.
