Bible Reading: Romans 12: 1-2
Memory Verse: I appeal to you therefore, brothers by the mercies of God, ato present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Romans 12:1 (ESV)
Some months back, a 19-year-old student of the Petroleum and Gas Engineering Department of a University slumped after he took an illicit substance popularly called “colo”. He was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead. The corpse has been deposited at the hospital mortuary for autopsy. His glorious destiny was aborted suddenly due to substance abuse. All financial, educational, moral and spiritual investment of his parents suddenly went down the drain.
Similarly, the police arrested a young man recently for killing his own mother. He asked his mother for a token of money but she gave him lesser than what he asked for. He got annoyed and killed her. Watching the recorded interview of the young man, it was obvious that he was under the influence of drugs. He was looking shabby and his words weren’t coherent. He claim he has a spiritual problem and I believe indeed he’s got one! Don’t destroy the glorious destiny ahead of you because of substance abuse.
A sheep that walks with a dog will soon start to eat faeces. Invariably, you are who you walk with. At school, at work, or in the neighbourhood, your friends knowingly or unknowingly deposit a measure of themselves in you. Who are your friends? It must have been someone who introduced the two aforementioned characters into drugs. Be wary of bad friends. Your destiny shall not be destroyed on the altar of bad friendship in Jesus name.
Quote: It is better never to have been entangled with drugs than to start looking for a way out.
Prophetic Decree: Receive your deliverance from destiny destroyers camouflaged as friends, in Jesus name.
