Memory Verse:For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away. Matthew 25:29(NKJV)

A person is considered to be talented when he can do quite naturally what another may consider as hard. Someone who has talent is able to do something without trying too hard. It is an ability that one is born with. It is innate. It is in-borne!

People may have talent for music, dancing, acting, sport, speaking, painting, drawing, writing, wood works, gymnastics or other skills. We say that someone is “born with a talent”. Other words for talent are aptitude or gift (note that gift in this context doesn’t mean the gift of the Spirit as written in 1Cor.12:8-10).

Recently, I met a JS 2 boy student who could play six musical talent – Violin, flute, saxophone, trombone, trumpet, & piano! Though he’s got the talent, but he couldn’t have achieved a great feat without hardwork. He doesn’t go home on Sunday before 5pm rehearsing and perfecting his skill.

Key Point:  Discover your talent and work hard perfecting it.

Prayer points:

  1. Holy Spirit, open my eyes to my talent and help me to develop it maximally.
  2. Talent killers, die, in the name of Jesus.
