Bible Reading: Galatians 5:16-18, 22-26

Memory Verse:Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. Galatians 5:24 (NLT)

The Bible says, “The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions.” Galatians 5:17 (NLT). The flesh talks about the condemned human nature that always rebel against the will of God. It is that aspect of every man that wants to have his way, many times, outside the perfect will of God even while going about the work of God.

It is one of the most potent tools the devil uses to get at us and make us victims of our own mistakes and as such, we become lawful captives. It is Mr. Flesh that will not allow you to apologize to your parents when you are wrong. “I don’t need anyone to succeed”, that is Mr. Flesh talking. It is Mr. Flesh that will make you consciously disobey constituted authority and at the same time, damn the consequences. It is Mr. Flesh that is sponsoring all manner of arrogance, pride, youthful lust, anger, bitterness, unforgiveness, etc. Many have chosen to continually keep malice with a brother or sister. That’s Mr. Flesh.

Mr. flesh will destroy a man who has refused to destroy it. Samson’s parents kept pointing the will of God to him in marriage but he wouldn’t listen. Eventually, his lust for Philistine women and ‘pride of grace’ sent him to his early grave without fulfilling his destiny. Anything the flesh touches, it pollutes. If you can still get angry then you are not crucified.

What is the way out? Walk in the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:16). Also, make sure you do the right thing at the right time in the right place even when you do not want to do it. By doing this over again, you empower the Spirit of God in you and suppress the power of Mr. Flesh. Friends, we must die daily to Mr. Flesh. The flesh is our greatest enemy.

The devil is not as powerful, he only uses the deficiencies in our character to pull us down. Working against the flesh could be very painful and very humbling, but it is the only way to living a higher life – the crucified life. Sometimes you need to apologize to a friend, junior or senior who did you wrong in order to crucify the flesh. Self-crucifixion (brokenness) is the pathway to obtaining power with God.

Quote: No work of the devil can prosper in your life without a ladder of Mr. Flesh

Prophetic Decree: Today, the Holy Spirit shall kill every work of the flesh in your life, in Jesus name – Colossians 3:5

Prayer Focus

1. Deliverance fire of God, fall upon every activity of Mr Flesh in my life, in Jesus name.

2. O Lord, deliver me from every weakness in my root, in Jesus name.

3. Anything the Lord has not planted in my life, be uprooted, in Jesus name.

4. Fire of the Holy Ghost, deliver me from every foundational weakness, in Jesus name.

5. Holy Spirit, break me and mould me, in the name of Jesus.

6. Sing and pray: Fill My cup Lord, I lift it up Lord. Come and quench the thirsty of my soul. Bread of heaven fill me till I want no more….
