THE HOLY SPIRIT AND HIS POWER

THE HOLY SPIRIT AND HIS POWER

Bible Reading: Acts 2: 1-4

Memory Verse:I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. Matthew 3:11(NIV)

I will like to introduce you to a special friend you must strive to know personally. He is the third person of the Trinity. He is called the Holy Spirit. He is a person, and not a force. He has emotions. He can manifest as a wind, fire, water, dove, or seal. A measure of Him comes into your heart once you get born again and His fullness abides in every believer when you get baptized, just as on the day of Pentecost. Like any friend you have ever had, to function well with Him, you need to know His person, His characteristics and His many dimensions of operations. For example, He is a gentle person who will not strive with anyone, he is a comforter, a revealer of secrets and, He is powerful, etc.

Basically, He has come for the transformation of every believer into the full image of Jesus Christ (Gal. 5: 22-25). This is one reason you must enroll in a discipleship class in your local assembly. Surrender your life totally to God at this moment and ask for His baptism. You receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit by: (a) Being thirsty and hungry for His in-filling and (b) By impartation. Tell Him to fill you to overflowing now.

What is the power of Holy Spirit? The power of the Holy Spirit refers to the capability of the Spirit of God in the life of a born-again child of God. God is all-powerful. The Bible says all power in heaven and earth has been given unto Him. One of the reasons why you have always written down your plans and purpose for the new year and it never manifest is simply because you lack the power of God to bring it to reality. You need power for advancement. You need power to make impact. You need power to disgrace your disgrace. You need power to enforce your dominion mandate. You need power to be fruitful. You need power to multiply. You need power to subdue. You need power to embarrass your enemies. You need power to rule in the midst of your enemies. You need power to break free from evil yokes of limitation, stagnancy, dream oppression, satanic manipulation, frustration, terminal disease, etc.
