Bible Reading: Psalm 103: 20-22
Memory Verse: What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him? For You have made him a little lower than the angels, And You have crowned him with glory and honor. Psalm 8:4-5 (NKJV)
The biblical words for “angel” (Hebrew: malachaggelos) mean “messenger.” Angels carry out God’s instructions. Angels are spiritual beings created by God to serve as messengers and intermediaries between the human world and the divine. Angels are often depicted with human qualities, such as speaking and having human-sounding names.
However, they are eternal, immortal, and do not grow old or die. Angels are not subject to the fall that humans are, and do not have sinful natures. They are not to be worshipped, but are instead servants of God.
Evil angels are also known as demons, fallen angels, unclean spirits, or evil spirits. Demons were once angels who rebelled against God and were cast out of heaven. Satan led the rebellion, and other angels joined him, becoming his minions (Jude 1:6).
A protocol is assigned to the children of influential persons in the society to keep them safe at all times, and in all places. An attack against them is not actually to their person, but to the dynasty they represent. Such is the functions of angels unto us!
We are from the heavenly Jerusalem, and as such, heavenly entourage are always at work with us to comfort, warn, protect, guide and minister to our needs. Walk with this understanding. Be fully assured in this consciousness. You are not alone. You’ve got backing!
Functions of angels include:
I. The angels of God are to minister to us (Hebrews 1:14).
II. They have been assigned to facilitate quick answers to our prayers, fighting off evil angels (demons) like unto Daniel against the Prince of Persia (Daniel 10:13).
III. Angels are heavenly beings sent to fight our battles for us; opening gates of prison doors that was shut against us, like unto Paul and Silas in the prison (Acts 16:26-33).
IV. Angels are to communicate the intentions of the Father to us, like unto Mary (Luke 1:26-28) and Zechariah (Luke 1:5-19).
V. Angels are responsible to keep us safe and sound in our journey in life.
Quote: Angels are supernatural beings with superhuman powers that are sent by God to comfort, warn, protect, guide and minister to His children and help fulfil their destiny.
Prophetic Decree: Let there be a substitution of high ranking angels around your life and ministry, in Jesus name.
