THE MINISTRY OF NEBUCHADNEZZAR

Bible Reading: 2 Timothy 2: 19-21, Matthew 7: 21-23

Memory VerseBut in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. 2 Timothy 2:20

Be careful when you hear the word “ministry”. The word ministry simply means service or assignment. Mind you, a service or an assignment could be good or bad. There are many who have been called into the ministry of Nebuchadnezzar in the modern day church. Who is Nebuchadnezzar and what ministry did he fulfill? Three (3) times in the scriptures, God called Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, “my servant” (Jer 43:10, 25:9, 27:6). He was what could be called “God’s hit man.” God wanted to punish the erring nation of Israel, then he looked for a man called Nebuchadnezzar only for God to punish this same king and the nation of Babylon after the weird assignment which lasted for 70 years had been fulfilled (Jer. 25:12).

Oh no, I don’t want to be used for such ministry in the hands of the Almighty. One quality of the people who God can easily use for Nebuchadnezzar type of ministry is pride. You will agree with me that Pharaoh, king of Egypt in the time of Moses also falls into this category. Those who are hardened in heart, pompous, full of unrepentant bitterness, unforgiveness, anger and are malicious will most likely present themselves as easy preys for this type of weird ministry. You are responsible for the way and manner you want God to use you by the way you position your heart before Him. With your digital tongue on the social media, you lambast and insult God’s ministers. Who has made you a judge over another man’s servant? Welcome to the Nebuchadnezzar ministry and its woeful consequences.

When you insult those who have been given spiritual and/or constitutional rights over you, you also fall into the Nebuchadnezzar ministry. Be warned: Those who live in glass house does not throw stones. You must know the limitations of your grace per time. Men of God are human, as such they err. Touch not his anointed and do His Prophets no harm (Psalm 105:15). No mortal man was there when God punished Moses for his sins on Mount Pisgah. Leave God and His servant, dear. He alone is authorized to do the “flogging”. Presidents, governors and other politically elected officers are human, hence they can also err. When they do, direct your complains to the right channel instead of making mockery of them openly. Power belongs to God and He gives those He has chosen. Be wary of the Nebuchadnezzar ministry.

Quote: Which are you? A vessel unto honour or a vessel unto dishonour.

Prophetic Decree: Your work for the Lord shall not attract a curse, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

Thank you Father for these words of deep insight. I repent of any way I have submitted myself to the ministry of Nebuchadnezzar in words, or deeds, in Jesus name. Henceforth, I refuse to be used as an instrument of correction only to be destroyed afterwards. I refuse to be a borrowed vessel only to be later punished and destroyed. I choose to be a vessel of honour continously to the glory of God, in Jesus name. Amen.
