Bible Reading: 1 Corinthians 15:51-52
Memory Verse: You shall have no other gods before Me. Exodus 20:3 (NKJV)
On Monday, 4th October, 2021, some social media platforms namely Facebook, Instagram & WhatsApp suffered a glitch which led to a global shutdown meaning users could not do anything on the platforms for several hours. While it lasted, some ardent users were disturbed because they had not known what the problem actually was. Many frantically tried all manner of methods to solve the problem. These included shutting down and restarting their appliances, getting in and out of airplane modes, reloading data, reinstalling applications, changing phone networks, etc.
Some even confessed that they cursed their Network Providers thinking it was network problem. They were troubled because they lost contact with their favourite social media platforms. They desperately sought ways to re-establish contacts. Well beloved, I hope we start having a rethink on our priorities? I would like to counsel that we decide to take more time to communicate with God. Can we take more time to read our Bible? Can we schedule at least one hour of prayer every day? Maybe you can add a day of evangelism to your weekly schedule. Perhaps a little extra time to worship. It would help. Let’s redirect to God a little more.
Don’t allow social media platforms rub you off your most needed intimacy with God. But there are other pertinent questions to draw out from this occurrence: How many of God’s children are so disturbed when they lose contact with the Holy Spirit? How many of them frantically do all they can to reestablish and maintain a relationship with Him? As a believer, if you cherish your time on social media more than your time in the secret place of Christian devotions, then you truly need help. You must cry out, “HOLY SPIRIT, HELP ME!”
Quote: Be careful of subtle addiction that runs you of intimacy with the Holy Spirit
Prophetic Decree: The grip of idolatry is broken in your life, in Jesus name.
Prayer Focus
1. Our Father in heaven, hallow be thy name.
2. O Lord, please forgive me of anyway I have relegated you to the background, in Jesus name.
3. This Year, I shall grow in intimacy with the Lord, in Jesus name.
