Bible Reading: Genesis 24:63, Psalm 119: 97,99
Memory Verse: Constantly remind the people about these laws, and you yourself must think about them every day and every night so that you will be sure to obey all of them. For only then will you succeed. Joshua 1:8 (TLB)
It was Pastor Lawrence Oyor who said: There’s no time where believers sit down and just think in a service. It’s only the Catholic church that is still doing it. They will sit down, just reflect, and think about life. If you think more, you will hear more. Pastors are afraid that the meeting will be boring, but we are not growing deep but shallow people, because we are talking more than listening.
In Year 2012/2013, I went into the Chapel of Resurrection, and I heard God spoke very softly, “Shut up.” The Prince of Peace spoke the shut up. I felt the peace. I said, “Lord, is it You? Is there any issue?”
I was humbled. So, I sat down. He said, “In a meeting between the less important and the more important, who does the talking? The less informed and the more informed, who should be talking?” Imagine your lecturer come and sits down, and everybody is talking to him about the course content; his students are all teaching him. But, 400 students will shut up. Why? One person is talking because he’s more informed.
You don’t have any idea how important thinking is a part of prayer. I heard my father said if he has one hour to pray, he will spend 50 minutes to meditate (Ephesians 3:20).
Meditation is that important and it should be part of our services, and a part of our singing. It involves confessions, repetition, and badging your consciousness.
I said, “I’m full of power!” for four hours in Year 2014/2015. I uttered that for four hours, then I went into the room to go rinse my face so that I could go for a meeting. I came out and I made that bold confession one more time, “I’m full of power.” The bulb blew! I said, “Jesus!” Ah, I’m full of power. The ground was a hard ground, that’s why I did that. And I don’t like to fail. So I started preparing, painting the picture. I kid you not, I did not lead a single prayer in that meeting. I didn’t even introduce a single message. I entered and started speaking in tongues. The congregation arrived and met me praying. Demons started screaming. People were baptised with the Holy Ghost, and there was no single introduction in the service.
Quote: There is however a difference between meditating and thinking. To meditate means to think persistently, deeply and diligently. Properly speaking, it means to chew over something in the heart – Martin Luther.
Prophetic Decree: Receive the illumination of the light of God in your spirit, the grace to make bold declaration as revealed, and the evident demonstration of same, in Jesus name.
Prayer Focus
Thank you Father for your Word of power and illumination. I receive grace and discipline to meditate until the light from your Holy Spirit strikes my spirit, in Jesus name. My greatest joy is to know You. Shine Your light of power and grace into my heart, in Jesus name.
