Topic:  THE REWARD OF FAITHFUL SERVICE

Bible Reading: Hebrews 7:7

Memory Verse:  Now beyond all contradiction the lesser is blessed by the better. Hebrews 7:7 (NKJV)

Minister Frank Edwards once said: I met SINACH 16 years ago when I joined the ministry as a young piano player. She became a big sister and a friend ‘because’ we were always together making music as she writes one new song every day. So I found myself rehearsing every day. Working with her was not easy because she was musically ahead of me and I was finding it difficult to catch up.

Sometimes in the middle of a rehearsal she would say, “Frank I want the strings to go high at this point”. Then I will tell her that it doesn’t sound nice just because I couldn’t do it, but she will insist. Then I had no choice but to learn it and do it. “She pushed me so hard, and I humbly followed”.

Lesson 1: As you serve a person of higher grace, you will most likely be provoked to give your latent (hidden) best. There is no studio in Lagos, Nigeria that Sinach and I didn’t visit just to make music. So, from following her to studios, I began to learn music production just by watching all the engineers we worked with. After every session, she sleeps inside the ‘vocal boot’ and me under the mixing console, then the next morning her car will refuse to start. Here is the good news: After I had gathered some production skills from all the various studios we visited, she decided to set up a mini studio in her house and I resumed work there as well. I just wanted to make music. I just wanted to serve. So to cut the long story short, today you know FRANK Edwards the producer, the engineer, the singer, etc.

Other Lessons

  1. True service done WITH AN OPEN MIND will surely give you more than you ask for.
  • Some certain dimensions of grace are not conferred, neither will God only permit you to sow into it. You will have to honour it by diligent service in order to partake from it.
  • Training comes before reigning in the school of life.

5. It is the quality of your training that determines the reach of your impact and exploits either for the kingdom, or in your secular work.

Quote:  Don’t look for where to show off , look for where to serve! It will amaze you – Frank Edwards.

Prophetic Decree: Receive grace to serve and to learn, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. Thank you Father for the gift of impartation.

2. I receive grace to serve in love and not grudgingly, in Jesus name.

3. Holy Spirit, please help me to humble myself, in Jesus name.

4. Holy Spirit, please help me to endure the pain and rigour of training, in Jesus name.

5. I receive the needed discipline to persevere till the end. I will not leave my God-ordained trainer, in Jesus name.
