Bible Reading: Jeremiah 6:16

Memory VerseThus says the LORD, “Stand by the roads and look; ask for the ancient paths, Where the good way is; then walk in it, And you will find rest for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it!’ Jeremiah 6:16 (AMP)

Pastor Nathaniel Bassey started his music ministry in 1993. He grew up listening to lots of instrumentals, highlife, jazz, etc. Nathaniel wanted to be a super jazz musician. As a result, he went about playing jazz with his trumpet at parties and clubs, until his life narrative changed. It had always been about the music for him until he got born again and had an encounter with God. It stopped being about the music, and it became all about knowing God, with the music as an instrument and a platform to show forth God’s love.

When he was a young boy, his father bought a trumpet for him and an elder in his neighbourhood prophesied that God will use him round the world. Before he finally went into pastoral and music ministry, his Pastor had always told him there was something about him when he blows the trumpet, but he had always laughed it off. One day someone whom he never met called him saying, “The hand of God is upon your life. Consecrate yourself unto him”.

When former Nigeria’s first lady, Stella Obasanjo was to come to his Church, his Pastor told him to prepare some songs. As he sang, he had a full blown conviction in his spirit that this is what he was destined to do for God. Thereafter, he broke up from his secular jazz band. He pulled out of this band at the peak of a long awaited musical trip to the US. What a hard decision that can only be sponsored by the conviction of the Holy Spirit. In that season, a reporter made mockery of him in an article saying he was a talented young man rottening away in a local Church. He was sad. No matter what others say, until your conviction is deep and personal, you may not run with the vision.

May the Lord open your eyes to see right early what He is saying about your life, in Jesus name. How did he meet his wife? Simple. Along the line of kingdom service. The ways of God are not hard though they may be challenging atimes. EVERYTHING YOU WILL EVER NEED IS INSIDE YOUR ASSIGNMENT. As you pursue your destiny assignment, your destiny package will be delivered to you, one at a time. Just follow. Friends, wouldn’t you rather use your talent to serve ONLY God? Finally, it may interest you to know that Pastor Nat as he is often called does not charge money when invited for ministrations. This is a token of his covenant unto the Lord. Yet, he is blessed travelling the whole world evangelizing Christ. Indeed, the ways of God when DILIGENTLY FOLLOWED are mysterious.
