Bible Reading: Genesis 13:5-12
Memory Verse: Take us the foxes, the little foxes that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes. Songs of Solomon 2:15
A few years after I was born, my dad met a stranger who was new to our small town. From the beginning, dad was fascinated with this enchanting newcomer and soon invited him to live with our family. The stranger was quickly accepted and was around from then on.
As I grew up, I never questioned his place in my family. In my young mind, he had a special niche. My parents were complementary instructors: mum taught me good from evil, and dad taught me to obey. But the stranger… he was our story teller. He would keep us spellbound for hours on end with adventures, mysteries and comedies.
If I wanted to know anything about politics, history or science, he always knew the answers about the past, understood the present and even seemed able to predict the future! He took my family to the first major league ball game. He made me laugh, and he made me cry. The stranger never stopped talking, but dad did not seem to mind.
Who could this stranger be? A stranger who seemed so domineering! Beloved, what are the strangers in your life that seem to lord over you? They are secretly contending with the place of God in your life. They may not be in front of your life but surely, you are dragging them along in your pilgrimage on earth. Friend, your Abraham must separate from Lot today. That “Lot” is not in God’s agenda for your life again. Dare to be a Daniel. Dare to stand for Jesus.
Quote: There are hidden destroyers of destiny. Watch it!
Prophetic Decree: May your eyes be opened to the evil tick of the enemy humming around your destiny, in Jesus name.
Prayer Focus:
- Holy Spirit, fumigate my life today, in Jesus name.
- Power of the Cross, cross out every evil tick of the enemy perching on my destiny.
- With your sword of fire O Lord, cut off every evil Lot away from my destiny, in Jesus name.
- My Father, move my life forward by fire, in Jesus name.
- Strangers in my body, catch fire, in Jesus name.
