Bible Reading: Psalm 136: 1-26

Memory Verse:  Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. Psalm 136:1 (NKJV)

Only those who can think deep can give thanks even in the midst of obvious challenges. The bitter truth is that without some of those challenges, the best of our character and attitude may not emerge. Wouldn’t you thank God for the gift of life?  Despite the harsh economy, there is enough provisions for your family, even as you keep climbing from one level of glory to another.

Are you aware that there are sicknesses the best of medical doctors cannot cure? Ask the so-called mighty and powerful people who have such sicknesses. They are tired of being tired yet, God saved you from such. 

Many need to think back on various near-misses, accidents, and incidents God, in His infinite mercies, delivered you from both at home, at work, and on the road. But for His mercies, the devil could have scored a point. Maybe you haven’t thought of the various distress calls God averted.

When the spotlight of the enemy is upon a family, you can be very sure of his assault and manipulations. Thank God especially for your children. In a particular family, the eyes of their son would have been completely blind if he didn’t miss a nail by half an inch directed at him. In the same family in the same season, while playing with her friend, the daughter gave her friend a little push, and before you know it, her legs got fractured.

This happened not on the playground but in the classroom, right in the presence of a teacher. That’s not normal. That’s a satanic manipulation! Sincerely, I am of the opinion that parents should always raise a battle seed for their children at least twice every year. 

Won’t you thank God for the various deliverances in your place of work? If you know the various battles God has been fighting for you, especially the ones targeted against your staff of bread, you will be grateful. There are colleagues looking for your downfall; who are forming evil alliances with top management staff to plot your downfall.

God, after the order of Haman, foiled their plans and overturned it. Think deep in retrospect as Year 2024 round off. Get a gratitude journal. Count your blessings and name them one by one, and you will see the great and mighty things God has done. Thank God for the so-called “little things”. You can talk. You can walk. You can eat. You can dance. You can think properly, and above all, you are still alive.

What many people don’t know is that despite the harsh economic situation, they are still moving forward. To you alone, O Lord, deserve and should receive all the praises. Thank you Lord for Year 2024.

Assignment: Give a special thanksgiving offering to God in cash and/or in kind. Make this a periodic commitment. 

Quote: If you want your life to turn around, try thankfulness. It will change your life mightily.

Prophetic Decree: By the reason of your heart of gratitude, you will see greater acts in Year 2025, in Jesus name. 

Prayer Focus 

1. Sing a song of thanksgiving to your Maker for seeing you through Year 2024.

2. Think of a time God came through for you in Year 2024 when all hope seemed to be lost, and worship Him.

3. In your own dialect, celebrate the goodness of God over your family. 

4. Can you verbalise God’s faithfulness and assurance of His covenant over you in Year 2024.

5. My Father, thank you for Year 2024, and I know that you will do greater and mightier things in Year 2025.
