Bible Reading: Daniel 12:3, Proverbs 22:29
Memory Verse: The Lord will make His face glow towards you and His countenance will be favourable towards your cause. Proverbs 16:15 (NIV)
Divine favour can be provoked by:
1. Love the Lord genuinely: Many just want to use God. Really, they don’t have a genuine love for God. They are simply interested in what to get from the Lord, and not what to do for God. Don’t deceive yourself. Matthew 22:37 said, “Jesus declared, “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” Are you really born again? Many are products of emergency conversion. There are many whose salvation wasn’t borne out of encounter, but an urgent need from God.
2. Engage in radical kingdom service: This year, please don’t live for yourself. You cannot connect to the divine oil of favour without pleasing the God of favour. Use your time, talents and treasures to win souls to the kingdom of God Daniel 12:3 (KJV) says, “And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.”
3. Be very prayerful: Build an aura of prayer around your life. Speak in tongues even when you do the very minutest things – as you take a stroll, as you drive, as you wash the dishes, etc (1 Corinthians 14: 2-3). Put the angels of favour to work.
4. Be diligent: Prayer is not a substitute for hardwork, and vice versa. A diligent person will stand before kings, and not before mean men (Proverbs 22:29).
5. Choose your words carefully: You can’t need favour but talk disfavour. Proverbs 18:21 (AMP) says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it andindulge it will eat its fruit and bear the consequences of their words.”
6. Holiness: One sure condition before the womb of Mary could be considered to carry baby Jesus is that she was a virgin (Luke 1:27-38). She kept herself pure before the Spirit of favour could single her out.
7. Impartation: A vessel of higher favour could impart a measure of the same spirit upon you (Heb.7:7).
8. Parental Blessings: When the spirit of your biological parents are pleased with you, it generates the grace for favour. Make sure you take good care of your parents irrespective of what might have happened in the past. You can’t be wiser than the scriptures (Ephesians 6:2-3).
9. Show kindness: Proverbs 12:2 (NIV) says, “A good man obtains favor from the Lord, but a man of evil devices he condemns.”
Quote: Favour is a divine instrument of divine flavor.
Prophetic Decree: This Year you shall become a favour magnet, in Jesus name.
Prayer Focus
1. My Father, in this Year 2023, single me out by special treatment, in Jesus name.
2. O God intervene in my affairs against all contrary odds, by your hands of favour.
3. O Lord, suspend all natural laws and alter, cancel or suspend normal course of events for me and my family to be highly favored this Year, in Jesus name.
4. By the hands of God’s favour, I shall stand out and be outstanding, in Jesus name.
5. Uncommon testimonies that will magnify the glory of God in my life, manifest in my life by fire this year 2023, in Jesus name.
