Bible Reading: Colossians 3:16, Romans 8:14,16

Memory Verse: The Spirit Himself testifies and confirms together with our spirit [assuring us] that we [believers] are children of God. Romans 8:16 (AMP)

Don’t forget that the fundamental way by which God speaks to man is through the Bible. The Bible is the ONLY infallible way by which God speaks to man. Other avenues such as dreams, visions, audible voice, through circumstances, through our godly parents, through our pastors, through prophecy, through godly music, etc., could sometimes fail. No wonder Matthew 24:35 (KJV), “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.” This is the reason why you must allow the Word of God dwell in you in all wisdom. When you begin to fill your hearts with the Word of God, the Holy Spirit will begin to culture your thoughts. The Holy Spirit will begin to brood over your thoughts. This will lead me to the second common way by which God speaks.

Through our thoughts! This is otherwise known as the inner witness of the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:16). Others call it Inner Knowing (John 18:4). Have you ever heard people say, “Something inside me told me to do this but I ignored it.” Now you are faced with the consequences! That was the Holy Spirit within them trying to find expression, but the human spirit has not been well trained to capture the thoughts of the Spirit of God. Proverbs 20:27 (AMP) says, “The spirit (conscience) of man is the lamp of the LORD, Searching and examining all the innermost parts of his being.” 

As you journey with the Lord through His Spirit, you will understand that many things the Holy Spirit will want you to do will come as an idea, a reasoning, or a thought. Provided such thoughts are scripturally complaint according to Philippians 4:8 (AMP), you are free to act it out. “Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God’s word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart].” 

Sometimes “you think” of someone and in few minutes, you receive a phone call from the same person. Sometimes “you just feel” you should call a person not knowing that the person needs someone to talk with at that particular time. As soon as you call, they say, “Thank God you called.”  Sometimes “you just feel” you should send a little amount to a particular person. Later, the person calls you that the money came in just at the nick of time, quarter to disgrace.

Friends, you must come to understand that a measure of the Holy Spirit came within you when you gave your life to Christ; and His fullness came within you when you got baptised in the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues. Don’t downplay your authority as a believer. Choose to harness the working of the Holy Ghost in your life. Pray more to sharpen your discernment (your ability to perceive His speakings/nudges). Stay sensitive. And, fill your mind more with the Scriptures. That’s how to grow in the prophetic!

Prophetic Decree: Receive grace to trap the thoughts of God, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus 

1. I break any barrier between me and the Spirit of God in Jesus name.

2. I unlock the channels of my Spirit to open up, in Jesus name. 

3. Today, I receive supernatural grace to trap divine nudges, divine thoughts and divine speakings, in Jesus name.

4. Holy Spirit, please give me grace to grow deeper in your word and prayers in Jesus name. 

5. Holy Spirit, please help me to lose consciousness of time in my relationship with You that I may know Your ways and consequently profit my destiny, in Jesus name.
