Bible Reading: 1 Kings 17:1, 18:1, Proverbs 37:37

Memory Verse: Timothy, my child, I entrust to you this command, which is in accordance with the words of prophecy spoken in the past about you. Use those words as weapons in order to fight well. 1 Timothy 1:18 (GNT)

To prophesy is to declare the Word of God. It means to speak forth the word of God to a person, group, thing, establishment or nation, etc. You can prophesy to both living and non living thing. Prophecy can be foretelling (about the past) or forth telling (about the future). Today, we shall consider different ways by which you can contact a prophecy i.e. different ways by which God can speak a Word into your life.

What are the various ways to contact prophecy?

1. Prophecy from the Word of God: 2 Peter 1:19a says, “We have also a more sure word of prophecy”. You can locate any of God’s promises in the Bible and personalize it; confessing it every day and night. You will also need to fulfill the conditions attached to the prophecy. We are responsible children of God.

2. Prophecy from a man of God: God can bring forth His word from the mouth of His servant. Number 6: 22-27. This is one reason why you must learn to honour anyone that has the calling of God upon him despite his personal weaknesses. Prophets are God’s spokesman. They are God’s voice on planet earth.

3. Prophecy by your character: If you see anyone who rejects correction, he/she will definitely damage his destiny. Your character (good or bad) is saying something about your future. Our actions and inactions are seeds that will eventually bring forth fruits in the future. Live right. Stop this arrogance, pride, truancy, bullying, alcoholism, womanizing, idolatry, insubordination, reckless living, drug abuse, etc, and embrace godliness and contentment which is great gain (Prov. 37:37). Behave it and become it.

4. Prophecy of your family: If you don’t handle your family pattern, you may end up like your family members. To be quiet about it is to end up as your ancestors. You need to do a diligent search about your family tree and prayerfully destroy anything the Lord has not planted. We all need deliverance of the blood.

5. Prophecy by relationship: The people you hang out with in Year 2020 could determine your rise or fall. There are people that enters your life and your life moves forward; the reverse is also true. Read Genesis 39:5

6. Prophecy as revealed by the Spirit of God: Via revelation in form of dreams, trance, or visions, God still reveals his plans unto mankind.

Be warned: Prophecy could be delayed if you do nothing about it. Paul told Timothy that he should war into the prophecy that has been written concerning him (1 Timothy 1:18). Pray and work towards the prophecy written concerning you.

Quote: Confess your prophecy, work it out and pray it into manifestation.

Prophetic Decree: Your prophecy for Year 2020 shall not be delayed or denied, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. Thank You Father for Your sure Word of prophecy over my life, in Jesus name.

2. I break the bands of wickedness working against the fulfilment of the prophecy written concerning my life in Year 2020.

3. I command the spiritual earthquake that will bring my prophecy to pass to manifest by fire, in Jesus name.

4. Holy Ghost trouble the troubler of my prophecy today, in Jesus name.

5. Any evil word programmed into the wind against my prophecy in Year 2020, be cancelled by the power in the Blood of Jesus, in Jesus name.

6. Let the whirlwind of the Holy Ghost blow away any evil word programmed into life, in Jesus name.

7. I puncture the maturity date of any evil prophecy against my life, in Jesus name.
