Bible Reading:  Genesis 18: 1-15, Deuteronomy 5:16

Memory Verse:  Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. Hebrews 13:2 (KJV)

1. Prophecy was hanging over the head of Father Abraham. It was not converted to performance until one day when three strange heavenly beings appeared unto him in human form, and he was able to discern and fed them. They told him after they had eaten, irrespective of the fact that Sarah had no faith that by this time according to the season of life, Sarah shall have a baby. That’s what food served to the right person at the right time and provoking the right pronouncements can do. “Do not neglect hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it.” Hebrews 13:2 (NASB). Food (served in honour) became an instrument for the activation of long time prophecy. It is amazing how little things done in good will can provoke great and mighty things.

• It was time for the spiritual baton to be transferred to the next generation. Isaac beckoned on Esau, his first son to prepare him a meal. Rebecca connived with Jacob to swindle his brother. Jacob brought the meal and his father pronounced the blessings after eating the meal and his soul was delighted. A tastefully prepared food transferred the scepter of power to the younger instead of the elder! This is a case when food connect a person to a generational inheritance.

There is another lesson to learn from today’s devotional. The mystery of honour! Honour your parents. Put food on their table. I know a lot could have happened hitherto, but for the preservation of your destiny, “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the LORD your God is giving you.” Exodus 20:12 (NKJV). When last did you send a token to your parents? Some of us need to give more than what we are presently giving. Those who break such divine rules may likely suffer total or partial open heavens.

Prophetic Decree: Let all the prophecies hanging over your head come alive by fire, in Jesus mighty name.

Prayer Focus

1. By the mercies I shall not miss my guardian angel, in Jesus name.

2. Holy Spirit, please sharpen my spiritual sensitivity, in Jesus name.

3. Open my divine understanding to the mystery of honour, in Jesus name.

4. I will not miss the mantle that will establish my glory, in Jesus name.

5. Bless me O Lord that I may be a blessing to your kingdom, my parents, and the world at large, in Jesus name.

6. Today, I receive that key that will activate my prophecies, in Jesus name.
