Bible Reading: 1 Corinthians 15:33

Memory Verse: Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.” 1 Corinthians 15:33 (ESV)

The old adage remains ever true: “Show me your friend, and I will tell you who you are”. You cannot be better than the people you relate with. Just one wrong person in your circle of friends is more than enough to corrupt you. Usually, it is easier to corrupt than to mend. It is easier to destroy than to build. “Don’t worry, I know how to control myself”. These type of words have converted one time Saints into stark sinners. They kept mingling with the company of friends who drink alcohol, take drugs, womanize, keep late nights, beat their wives, disregard parental and spiritual authority, steal government money, etc., until the same spirit of Sodom and Gomorrah possessed them unconsciously. Habits, whether good or bad, are usually imbibed subconsciously.

Association determines destination. A sheep that walks with a dog will soon eat faeces. Dearly beloved, who are your friends? What type of company do you keep in school, at work, etc.? It may surprise you that though at a ridiculously slow speed, diffusion still occur in solids. Two metals kept side by side for a long period of time will soon have their particles mix together says O’ level Chemistry. If that could happen with non-living things, how much more in living beings? Brethren, there is great power in relationship. Negative or positive anointing are transmitted within your circle of friends and influence. Saul came into the company of Prophets and soon began to prophesy. On the other side, Dinah, the only daughter of Jacob came into the city of Canaan and her destiny was silenced after

Shechem defiled her. She went out to see the daughters of the land and her destiny was ruined by that singular encounter. It is a hard truth: There are people you shouldn’t permit to come close to you. -1 X 100,000 = -100,000. Just one negative person with the wrong character and orientation can corrupt the team of a hundred thousand if not quickly expunged. There are many who lost opportunities simply because they were spotted with the wrong people. The reverse is also true. There are many who ended in jail when the police raided a place notorious for evil and though they were innocent they were arrested. Be careful with the type of people you relate with because no matter how smart you are, they can reduce you to their level. Association is powerful.

Quote: Just one person is more than enough to cause a great damage or a great blessing.

Prophetic Decree: Destiny killers shall not cross your path, in Jesus name.

THE QUIET DESTROYERS (2)

One of the greatest dangers in the life of a believer is not the sins everyone can see, but the ones that hide quietly in the heart. These sins rarely attract attention, yet they slowly drain spiritual strength and weaken a man’s destiny. Hebrews 12:1 says, “Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles”...
