Bible Reading: 1 Kings 18: 17-40

Memory Verse:  And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power. 1 Corinthians 2:4 (NKJV)

Years back, a group of young Christians were coming from Church. At a particular place called Yaba, in Lagos, Nigeria they saw a crowd gather because a particular man was performing live magic. Full of fire, they decided to disrupt the process. They gathered not too far away and started speaking in tongues. The magic man could smell a rat. He looked around and called on one of them. He told him, “If you are confident of the power you carry, put your hands in this magical pot of mine.” Without hesitation, he did, and nothing happened to him. Then he brought out a charm and started coming towards this Christian brother. Our brother stood still and suddenly the magic man froze. Don’t forget this is a true live story that happened in broad day light.  The magic man got annoyed, reached out to a bigger magic pot containing a snake. Then another firebrand brother spoke, “If you put your hands inside that pot, that same snake of yours will bite you”. And that was it. The serpentine altar he relied on failed him woefully in broad day light, and bit him. Somebody shout this loud and very clear: My Father, baptise me with the Holy Ghost and with power.” Dear brethren, the kingdom of God is not in words but in power. Some people will not believe until they see the raw power of God at work through you. What a thousand preaching may not do, one astounding demonstration of God’s power will do in five minutes. John 4:48 (NKJV), “Then Jesus said to him, “Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will by no means believe.” You are meant to be a terror to the devil in your family, in your neighbourhood, in that office, in that establishment. Why should you be in a place and oppression, stagnancy, failure, pain and sorrow is the testimony? As an individual, it is your responsibility to demonstrate the raw power of God not only in words, but also in deeds. Receive a mantle of power today, in Jesus name. How do you receive this raw power? Live a consecrated life. This is a life dedicated to doing only the will of Jesus. A consecrated life is a holy life, an obedient life to the will of the Father and not to self or sin, a prayerful life, and a Word-filled life. You need to be addicted to Jesus as you pay the price for power on the altar of prayer. When last did you pray for long hours, and for how long? 1hr, 2hrs, 3hrs, 6hrs or 12hrs? Some things may not shift in your life until you pay the price of consistency in the war room of prayer. If you want to be mysterious then you pray more in mysteries – pray more in the Holy Ghost (1 Cor. 14:2).

Prophetic Decree:  Receive a fresh auction for prevailing prayers, in Jesus name. 

Prayer Focus

1. My Father, increase my prayer stamina today, in Jesus name.

2. I receive grace to live a consecrated life that is sold out to the will of Jesus.

3. I receive grace to die to self, sin, weight and this world, in Jesus name.

4. Thou power of God, come upon my prayer life, in Jesus name.

5. I saturate my life and my environment with the fresh power of the Holy Ghost, in Jesus name.
