Bible Reading: 2 Corinthians 9:7-11

Memory Verse: He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless
come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him Psalm 126:6

Oftentimes, we come across people who put so much effort and resources into working
for the Lord, but after a while they become weary asking, “What would be my reward or
gain for all these efforts?” Listen, “God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour
of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints,
and do minister” Hebrews 6:10. Therefore be encouraged, don’t despair. No one can
out-give God.
Our memory verse puts it succinctly: He who continually goes forth weeping, bearing
seed for sowing, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, Bringing his sheaves with
him. What this means is that your harvest is sure. It will happen without failure. A sheave
is a bundle of stalk or ears of grain that you bind together after they are cut. They are
bound together for transportation or for storage. It is sometimes used as a term to refer
to a package of so many things put together. But in our theme verse, it refers to some
form of harvest from your giving, and this is not just about money.
It is important to know as a child of God that you can get your harvest anytime you
choose; you can make it happen anytime you want. Genesis 8:22 says, “While the earth
remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day
and night shall not cease.” This means there is no definite time for the harvest. “Seedtime
and harvest” means there is a time of sowing but you can call forth the harvest anytime!
You might as well consider today your day of harvest, your day of blessings! Praise God!
