Year 2026 as announced from the throne of grace is our year of double honour (Isaiah 61:7). Irrespective of what is happening around the world, to the faithful, God will show himself more than faithful this year. There are seasons in a believer’s life when God rewards faithfulness, sacrifice, and steadfastness, not with the ordinary, but with double honour. Double honour is not mere applause or recognition; it is a divine lifting, a restoration, and a reward system from Heaven that compensates for years of pain, shame, rejection, and service. When God moves you into a realm of double honour, He doesn’t just vindicate you, He announces you! Double honour means to be distinguished twice over; it is multiplied dignity and recognition that comes by divine favour.
It is:
I. Like Job, restoration of lost dignity (Job 42:10–12)
II. Heaven’s compensation for earthly humiliation (Isaiah 61:7) I
II. A supernatural elevation that causes men to wonder at your rising (Zechariah 3:7)
To be honoured is good, but to be doubly honoured means God has seen the extent of your pain and decided that one measure of blessing is not enough!
Now, how do you connect to this river of double honour this year:
a. Walk in Righteousness: Proverbs 21:21 says, “He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour.” Honour is the reward of a clean heart before God. When you choose integrity where others compromise, Heaven keeps record.
b. Serve God earnestly: John 12:26 says, “If any man serves me, him will my Father honour”. Those who serve God genuinely in the secret place or in the spotlight are candidates for divine honour. Every act of service (prayer, giving, evangelism, faithfulness to assignment) becomes a seed that will germinate into honour.
c. Endurance through Shame: Hebrews 12:2 says “Who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of God.” Shame often precedes honour. Joseph endured the pit, the prison, and false accusation before wearing the robe of honour. If you can stay faithful in the “pit seasons,” you will be qualified for the palace.
Take note: God can decide to honour you spiritually (He increases your grace, your authority, and your relevance in the Kingdom. Your words carry weight, your prayers shift atmospheres, and your presence becomes a channel of divine influence), or financially (debt cancellation / financial increase), or socially (when men who once ignored you begin to seek you. God can orchestrate circumstances that cause those who despised you to recommend you (Esther 6:10), academically (better grades/ scholarships), etc. Talk to Him about the specifics you need.
