Scripture Reading:                    1 Thes.4:3-5 (ESV)

Memory verse for the week:   Mat 18:21-22

21 Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?”

22 Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven. (NKJV)

Thank God for the preservation of our lives this day. We shall continue from where we stopped yesterday. Below are some of the causes of teenage pregnancy. Learn and guard against them as Christ helps you.

  1.  Personal lifestyle: Many teenagers love to enjoy themselves. This is not bad in itself provided it is done with caution. Some love to party and hang out with the “big guys” all night. Some others wear skimpy, revealing clothes forgetting that guys are moved by what they see. Change your lifestyle before you become a laughing stock!
  • Carelessness: Listen, there’s a tactic that works on most ladies. Can I tell you? It is called “sweet talk”! Young teen girl, be careful when that boy centres his discussion about your looks and body shape; especially when you two are in a quiet place. Flee… many atimes, he’s trying to work on your emotions.
  • Poverty: A girl who is meant to be productively engaged in school but have no financial support hangs around aimlessly in the neighborhood. Many have ended with unwanted pregnancy from touts and motor park hoodlums.
  • Gender inequality: Some belief that the girl child deserves no schooling and thereby relegates teenage girls as a “baby factory”; milking out babies from the tender age of 12.
  • Internal insecurity:  Some girls don’t feel secured without a male friend hanging around them. They lack self confidence. They have forgotten that the scripture says, “Vain is the help of man”. (Psalm 108:12, 60:11).

ACTION WORD:       MY CHARACTER IS MY DESTINY.

PRAYER POINT:

  1. Come what may, I shall not make a costly mistake, in the name of Jesus.

Hear me, O my body; you shall not be defiled in the name of Jesus.
