DOUBLE DEALING WITH GOD: A DANGEROUS GAME

DOUBLE DEALING WITH GOD: A DANGEROUS GAME

Bible Reading: James 1:6–8; Revelation 3:16; Galatians 6: 7–8

Memory Verse:  A double minded man is unstable in all his waysJames 1:8 (NIV)

Friends, God is not confused about who we are. We may fool people, but we can’t fool Him. Double dealing is when you try to live two lives at the same time—one for God, and one for your flesh, culture, or secret desires.

It is singing in the choir on Sunday, but committing fornication/adultery during the week. It is leading prayer meetings, yet secretly consulting an herbalist when things get tough. It is posting scriptures online, but living a life that contradicts everything you post. It is preaching the Gospel yet using the name of the Lord to extort money from members.

It is being called an anointed man of God yet watching pornography and engaging in masturbation in the secret. Friends, you may deceive others, but you can’t deceive God, devil, and yourself.

This kind of life has consequences.

First, it kills your spiritual sensitivity. The more you mix light and darkness, the harder it becomes to hear God clearly. What used to prick your conscience no longer bothers you.

Second, it opens doors to confusion and instability. One minute you’re on fire for God, the next minute you’re deep in sin. You can’t build anything solid like that—your life becomes spiritually shaky.

Third, it delays your progress. God cannot fully trust or promote someone who is not fully surrendered. Imagine asking God for blessings, but your lifestyle is working against the very prayers you’re praying.

Do not be:

1. That choir member who ministers powerfully but is secretly addicted to sexual sin. Eventually, the anointing will dry up and guilt will set in.

2. That church worker who still runs to spiritualists in times of trouble. This will bring spiritual conflict and open doors to oppression.

3. That young believer who prays publicly but lives a hidden life of dishonesty. Doors of favour may begin to close without explanation.

Brethren, God is not asking for perfection, but He demands sincerity. If you fall, be honest and come back; but don’t live a lifestyle of pretence.

Be warned. Don’t be a product of spiritual cross fire. You can’t dine with God during the day and wine with the devil at night.

Quote:  God can work with a struggling heart, but not with a divided one.

Prophetic Decree: Receive grace to walk in truth, purity, and full surrender to God, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. Lord, I come with a broken and contrite heart. Please help my weakness, in Jesus name.

2. Today, I ask for a clean and sincere heart, in Jesus name.

3. I receive grace to overcome hidden and easily besetting sins, in Jesus name.

4. I ask for boldness to live a consistent Christian life, in Jesus name.

5. By the mercy of God, my private life will match my public confession, in Jesus name.
